Allied Eldar and GK heroes
Pheonix Lord Karandras
Grand Master Alexias - Bionics, Icon of the Just
Swarming Tyranid forces
Hive Tyrant - Warp field, barbed strangler, scything talons, implant attack, bio-plasma
The allied heroes won the roll off and went first.
Alexias jogged alongside the ancient Pheonix Lord, having just narrowly escaped death at the hands of a Tyranid raiding swarm, his company of grey knights quickly overrun by the vile creatures. Had it not been for the swift intervention of an Eldar strike force heralding from the biel-tan craftword and led by none other than the ancient Pheonix Lord Karandras, the whole company including the grand master would have been lost. Now, Only Alexias and Karandras remained, desperately trying to escape the clutches of the enemy. They had found an escape route where a gunship was ment to await them, but at the last minute, a small group of tyranids appeared and blocked their path. There was only one way through, and no way back.
1st Turn - Allies
Alexias and Karandras charged towards the enemy, however karandras was more nimble than his heavily armoured ally, and quickly outpaced him, unable to wait to spill more tyranid blood with his sword.
1st Turn - Tyranids
With their prey charging towards them, the gaunts under the control of the hive tyrant simultaneously sprinted on all fours, thirsting fresh blood and hungering fresh meat, towards the closest living enemy, the Pheonix Lord. The Hive Tyrant levelled the barbed strangler at the grey metal clad warrior, but just before firing, the figure seemed to disappear, and the tyrant lost its target, snarling in frustration.
2nd Turn - Allies
The vile creatures were nearing Karandras, and he relished the oppurtunity to engage in combat with these foul beings. He bounded towards the gaunts wielding crude bio-rifles, only stopping to shoot with the gauntlet mounted shuriken catapault, severing the head from its body in a spray of blood. Alexia stopped just out of range of the quickly approaching monsters, and summoned up the power of scourging, sending out psychic blasts at the taloned foe, blasting apart 4, leaving a pile of gore where the creatures once stood. Karandras launched a suprise assault on the gaunts catching them off guard and with his biting blade, managed to kill a gaunt with a mighty forehand swing, then impaling another 2 with a back handed thrust. The tyranids hissed at him, and quickly moved to surround him.
2nd Turn - Tyranids
Witnessing the green armoured warrior hack through 3 of his warriors, the hive tyrant glowered at the nearby unit of gaunts, mentally ordering them to attack the vicious foe. The tyrant moved forwards also, firing at the grand master, however the ancient and reverred armour saved him from the explosive effects of the weapon. Another 2 termaguants fell toe the deadly pheonix lord, but he himself was wounded once by the slashing talons of the newly arrived hormagaunts, unable to parry and block all of their vicious blows.
3rd Turn - Allies
Sensing his ally needed help, and quickly, Alexias offered a quick prayer to the Emporer, before charging into the mixed melee of blades and talons catching 2 hormagaunts off guard before separating their torsos from their feet. The previous combat must have affected harandras, as he only managed to saw through a single termagaunt, while defending himself from the vicious blows aimed for him.
3th Turn - Tyranids
With the grand master occupied with the gaunts, the tyrant made its move, charging for the grand master with talons ready to quarter the pitiful human. Karandras managed to obliterate the remaining termagaunts, sending them to the pit from whence they were spawned, and turned to face the remaining slashing gaunts. The ripper swarm, which had remained hidden behind the gaunts rushed out, teeth nashing and spines flaring, into Karandras. The cataclysmic battle between the grand master and the hive tyrant began, with Alexia having been taken by surpise by the towering monstroserty, not being to inflict a single wound to try and destroy the creature outright with his nemesis force weapon. However, the tyrant inflicted 4 wounds onto the mighty warrior, but fortunately the Icon of the Just preventing 3 of those wounds from doing anything, but the one that couldn't be stopped bit deep into the grand master, the razor sharp spines within his talon shooting out and digging into flesh, having been triggered by the presence of flesh, and the tyrants own psychic command.
4th Turn - Allies
The mighty pheonix lord looked down at the creatures attemping to sink their teeth into him, revving his biting blade and began wildy slashing, sawing, until their was nothing left but a mass of scales, teeth, and blood. The 2 remaining gaunts noticed the grand master staggering from the wound inflicted by the hive tyrant, and lashed out at him, but once again, Alexias mighty terminator armour absorbed all of the blows. He turned back to the tyrant, anger and hatred filling his thoughts, and with power of the Emporer behind him, 3 blows found their mark, striking the beast where its horrid carapace was at its weakessed. The tyrant howled in pain and anger, and in response lashed out with its talons, sinking both into the grand master, inflicting fatal wounds. However, the grand master wasn't finished yet. Calling on the Emporer and his mighty psychic prowess, he destroyed the tyrant with an explosion of blood and gore with nemesis force weapons special power. Alexias, spent, and mortally wounded, fell and accepted his death.
4th Turn - Tyranids
With their leader defeated, the remaining 2 gaunts stood confused and unsure at what to do next having lost their link to the hive mind. They reverted to their natural instincts and began once again slashing at Karandras. The pheonix lord was too quick for them, his mandiblaster filling the head of a gaunt with razor shard needles, before sending an electric shock which blew the head apart, the body squirming along the head, blood pouring out like a fountain. The remaining gaunt was quickly dispatched with a downward stroke with the biting blade, splitting the unfortunate creature in two.
Karandras surveyed the bloodied battlefield, corpses strewn about him where he dealt his wrath. As he prepared to leave, Karandras noticed the body of grand master Alexias by an overly large mass of bone and gore. He picked him up, detecting the arrival of an Imperial gunship. As Alexias was set down, the internal bionics within him began to operate, and his heart began beating once again. He opened his eyes, and he lived. (On the last tyranid turn, the grand master passed his bionics test, but for the sake of the story, it doesn't say there)
Phew, finally done. Hope u enjoyed it, let me know wat u think!
A great use of fluff and pure action. 10 out of 10. can't wait to read u're next batrep.
'No evil will escape the just punishment of rightenous'
That was sure great! The only thing I noticed was that you used the word 'vicious' too often somewhere in the beginning.
eldar and orks never roll together
Phenominal report, can't wait for you next. It contained the fluff but you didn't overload on it, making it an easy read. 10/10
Caliban, go away! Stop saying random things that rarely have any compensation to a conversation! Great battle report BTW.
write, write more. Your good.
I was especially impressed by the fact you made it like a book more than just 8 gaunts died or whatever so make sure you report on your next battle ok!
In the end there is only war.
Brilliant, cracking, amazing.
Yeah i realy liked that, oh and caliban it was an eldar and a GK who rolled together, not a bloody ork.
<span style='color:red'>"Right lads, lets make a tactical advance to the rear of our posistion"
"Errr do you mean run away?"
"Thats the one"</span>
"Oh man, look at that."
"Over there, by that river of boiling souls."
"Well I'll be damned... it's a Starbucks."

If it was a 2000 point battle you would have made a book. Very good battle report. Poor bugs...
