Heretical Space Marine Infestation
While combing the Medusa Sector, a distress beacon was recieved from a local guard garrison requesting aide from a rogue group of Space Marines who had become corrupted after coming taking a daemonic artifact from the Eldar they had been combating. Not having time to wait for Imperial renforcements to arrive, a small contingent of Grey Knights under the command of Grand Master Spector were contacted and arrived on the surface shortly after we landed.
We met up with the heretical Marines in the outskirts of a small Imperial city. They were well entrenched within buildings to the northern part of the city, with one tactical squad (heavy bolter) occupying a building to the north east sector of the city, and a Predator laying down cover fire from the NW corner of the city. Under the command of Grand Master Spector, myself and my retinue entrenched ourselves within the south eastern corner of the map, preparing to lay waste to the tactical squad to the north. Our Vindicare positoned himself on the highest rooftop available, on a building in the southern part of the city. They Grey Knights along with Spector and his Terminators deployed behind some ruined buildings in the southern part of the city, preparing to engage the forces to the north.
We stuck first. My retinue and myself slowly whittled down the tactical squad to the north, eventually killing every last man. Only one casualty was taken in return, one of the sages was stuck by a heavy bolter round that tore through his eye, ripping half his head off his shoulders.
The Marine Predator came rumbling in from the northwest, and many of its lascannon shots were well off their mark. 2 of its shots did connect, however, and 2 of Spector's retinue fell to the massive guns. In retribution, the Vindicare took aim at its side armor with a Turbo-Penetrator round, but the shot went wide of its target.
Meanwhile, GM Spector and his Grey Knights fought through the heavy fire fights going on in the middle of the city. Bolter and storm bolter shots flew everywhere. The Emperor smiled upon Spector and his troops however, and during the advance only suffered minimal casualties. For every Grey Knight who fell in battle, 2 Marines would fall to the onslaught of storm bolter fire. A rush across the empty streets between the buildings by the heretical Assault Marines proved to be suicidal. Many of the were cut down in the charge. Those who survived the storm bolter barrage attempted to fire their plasma pistols while they charged, but either died from plasma overheating or were cut down by the Grey Knights in hand to hand combat.
Suddenly, overhead the roaring engines of a Thunderhawk could be heard. It was landing a few kilometers outside the ruined city, attepmting to pick up the Marines from the surface. It was then that Spector and his Grey Knights decided to charge into the enemy's building, for the heretics could not be allowed to contaminate any other Marines from their chapter. Storm bolters blazing, the Grey Knights flew into the ruins. Terminator after terminator fell to the storm bolter barrage, leaving Spector face to face with the heretical chaplain while his Grey Knights hunted down the fleeing tactical squad. The chaplain stuck first, swinging his mighty crozius arcanum at Spector. Bringing up his Nemesis Force Halbred, Spector parried the attack and swung his mighty halbred at the chaplain. Attempting to parry the attack with his crozius arcanum, the heretic found his weapon sliced in half by the force behind Spector's attack. Spector's next attack found its mark, taking of the chaplain's head with one quick slice. His Grey Knights captured and killed the remaining heretics along with the crew of the Predator.
My Imperial reinforcements arrived shortly after and I personally saw to the cleansing and purification of the remaining Predator and Thunderhawk along with its crew. I am pleased to report that the chaos threat has been nullified.

If you mess with the the inquisition enough, they start messing with you
Good to see another victory for the emperors finest. I also liked your report. Short, to the point, but enjoyable.

I'm surprised the heretics did not cause more damage, but then.. his force was unduly concentrated around the corrupt chaplain, and woe to those who face the Nemesis Force Weapon up close.
Nice report. It wasa good read. It does me good to hear that Grey Knights where victorious.
Why use science and education when ignorance and superstition will work just as well.
It still suprises me how much many players underestimate Grey Knights ranged anti-troop firepower...massed storm bolters took down all 7 terminators in the retinue and caused 2 or the chappy's 3 wounds as well as tearing up the assualt marines and tac marines.
A lot of people who play for the first few times against grey knights don't understand our army. Good battle mate, although your list needs a bit of work.
Though unnumbered lurking perils await us, our blades will ever be ready.
FOR WE ARE THE EMPEROR'S VENGEANCE!
Thats true, this is just a throw together list atm until I can get more models and branch out to what I want.Originally Posted by Forgotten Flashlight
