A Fight Till Death
On a dark and misty planet, covered only with ancient ruins surrounded by murky forests, the two patrols met. As forseen this couldn't end up well. The Leaders had their orders and a single foe couldn't be let live.
Command Squad, 6 strong
2x Tactical squad, one armed with a Missile Launcher
6 & 5 men Strong
A 10 strong Dire Avanger squad, including an Exarch, with Bladestrom power
3 Jetbikes, 1 armed with Shuriken Cannon
4 Striking Scorpions & Exarch
The Space Marines won the "in some games the most important" roll, which in this game showed to be a quite silly one. The Tactical Squads lurking in their ruins unable to see any of their foes except for the path finders. The Command Squad decided to go and check out who those little green scorpion like thingies behind the forest were. The tacticals opened fire and fired randomly into the woods occupied by pathfinders and eliminating 3 of them, Unable to sit still they fled out towards the darkness of the other table edge for no return.
The Eldars decided to leave the Space Marine HQ alone and moved all their troops towards the Tactical Squads who were sitting in their nice little ruin. The Jetbikes "zoomed" a little closer to get some fire up ____________. The striking Scorpions moving up behind them. The Dire Avangers were too far for anything funy so they moved up and enden up fleeting on their feet another 5". The Jetbikes opened fire towards the smaller of the 2 tactical squads and killed 1 single dude, unable to make them slightest worried, or even thinking of an easy escape route, and then zooming another 6" away from the range of the puny bolters.
The Command Squad decided to move closer to their friends and still making a treath to the enemy, but unable to do anything but fire a couple of bolters. The now 4 man strong tactical squad decided to move closer to the Jetbikes to get a nice round of firing at them and ended up killing two of them. The command squad only killing one of the Avangers were in range for a nasty next eldar turn. The Bigger tactical squad , killed two of the scorpies, but were unable to break the rest.
The Eldars saw their goal and the jetbike rushed towards the tactical squad emptying its Shuriken Cannon, the Dire Avangers moved up to see the command squad, and led them in for some serious dancing. The Scorpies moved closer to the tactical but seemed to be out of reach for an assault. The Dire Avangers shot a total of 16 shots hitting 14! and wounding 10!, the Command Squad had no better luck and failed a total of 6, eliminating every one except for the Chaplain. The Jet Bike managed to kill one more of the Space Marines reducing their number to 3, but the scorpions failed to harm anyone with their pistols and catapult. The Jet bike decided to assault the tactical hoping for them to be stucked in combat making the scorpions able to assault on their next turn. But as the story goes the jetbike failed its one saving throw and fell dead to the ground and the marines were able to move out of harms way.
The now lone chaplain decided it was time to hide so he moved towards the forest to minimize the enemy fire the next turn and hoping to survive being able to assault. The smaller tactical moved further away from the scorpions joining with the others at the ruin. The Avangers were nasty with their assault 2 weapons and had to be eliminated to save the chaplain. With some serious Partial Arts with a frag grenade, 5 were hit, all of the wounded, but were saved! The 5 bolters succeded to wound 3 but only kill a single, @£$€ing 4+ saves were the comment on those ones.
The Avangers now all alive (almost), moved on an highered their nice little guns at the lonley Chaplain hitching a ride home, while the Scorpies decided to move behind the woods for hiding. The Avengers nasty luck was over and with their 14 shots they succeded to wound the chaplain only 3 times but, as the book of marines goes, he failed two saves and died.
As the leader had left them the tacticals decided to stand ground for pumpin' up alot of shells into the avangers and hoping to send them all away in boxes, but the luck had no way changed and thou the frag grenade hit 6 of them and bolter emptying towards their line out of 8 saves failed only 2! This reduces the squad to 6 but it still has enough fire power to be dangerous. And why don't the little eldars brake.
The Avangers are moving up to get a some shooting at marines and the scorpions moves on, and will be able to assault on their next turn. The avangers take a risk and fires using their bladestorm ability allowing them to fire 3 shots a guy --> 15 shots! The luck is still with them and they kill 5 of the marines in the bigger squad with one loner left, who passes his leadership test and stands his ground. Th Scorpions opens fire on the smaller squad killing another guy, and they were only 3.
The Tactical squads are cornered and no place to go, so they opens fire, the loner wounding one of the avangers, which saves, and the other 3 unable to harm the Scorpions. This is not looking to good fro the Space Marines.
The Scorpions moves up empty thei pistol clips and assaults the 3 remainding Space Marines, and the Avangers move up, but they may not fire this turn and are unable to reach close combat. The Scorpions release their salva but doesen't kill anyone, and jumps into were they belong, close combat. The Exarch decides to use his power fist and let the others strike first. The scorpions with their 8 attacks (4 each) hits only with 4 of them and wounding only with 1, which saves. The Space marines are up in the tempo and hits with all their attacks and wounds with 5! By Failing 2 saves it is up to the Exarch to decide good and bad in this battle, hitting with 4 out of 5 attacks and killing the rest of the Space Marines, sweeping advancing up to the loner but 1" too short.
The Last Space Marine decides to open fire against the exarch and as it is written, the bullet penetrates the eldars head leaving a bloody mess. In this cheery moment he remembers the Avangers and his filled with Eladerly bullets and droppes dead to the ground in a pool of blood.

Great battle report! I liked the ending (bloody marines)
Overall it was well played on the Eldar's side, although i'm assuming those pathfinders could've been placed better. Seemed pretty even through and through.
“You can live to be a hundred if you give up all the things that make you want to live to be a hundred.” ~ Woody Allen
Thnx, the Pathfinders weren't that bad place only some (un)lucky hits with a frag grenade with only one bolter and the missile launcher in range. It was a nice game even if the terrain wasn't the best.
PS. yey PBF
The "Frag grenade" bit threw me back to the good old days, when Frags were a weapon, I assume you mean Frag missile?
Everything you have been told is a lie!

"Hey sarge, this lasgun is heavy. I wish we had something lighter."
FF7: ABOUT RANDOM BATTLES
you could throw them, range 3 inches (short) or 6 inches (long) template, str3 and I think -2 to save
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Yes, a frag missile it is. Why does every one support the Eldars? I play the Space Marines...
Well does it matter. Like the thought of Frag Grenades actually doing some damage, I really don't like the current rules.
Sorry but the marines would win in a tournament because the eldar cheated.
I play eldar now so I know that if you blade storm in turn 2 you can not fire in turn three as the Avengers are re-loading.
I know this because my army has 40.:shifty:

Actually they weren't blade stroming but firing normally, they blade stormed twice in the battle, in turn 4 and in turn 6 and therefore not firing in turn 5. The term "emptying" doesn't refer to the power, Sorry for a bad word choice which leads to misunderstanding.
