    Chaos Turn 1
Lieutenant Grekar surveyed the landscape in front of him. All was quiet, except for the distant boom of a battle to the east. A breeze blew through the trees on a hill 300 meters to his left, while a ruined building to his right scarcely needed a second glance. Grunting to himself, he motioned for the rest of his troops to follow.

    *GRRRRNNN!*

The tranquility was broken as the Predator gunned its engines and belched forth a gout of smoke from its twin exhaust. Beside it, the monstrous shape of a defiler started lumbering forward, smashing smaller bushes and saplings to pulp as it left its heavy imprint on the green grass of this foreign world. Squads Moloch and Micon advanced behind Lt. Grekar, cautiously surveying the landscape in front of them. Somewhere towards their extreme right, beyond line of sight Squad Tiamat acknowledged their position and status thru the comlink.

    Tyranid Turn 1
On the left flank, beyond a copse of tree and dense undergrowth, a swarm of hormogaunts scuttled about accompanied by a zoanthrope. Slightly further right, another zoanthrope led the advance. Larger Tyranid warriors followed it. Directly in the middle, an alien scream resounded as the carnifex stomped through a tree covered hill. Genestealers sprinted forwards, while more hormogaunts circled through more trees, intent on advancing upon Squad Tiamat on the right flank.

    Chaos Turn 2
Moving within cover of the ruined building to his right, Lt. Grekar and Squad Moloch spotted some Genestealers behind a line of palm trees. A couple of shots took out a lone ‘stealer. At the left flank, Squad Micon moved up for better fire position. The predator rumbled forwards while the defiler attempted a guess shot that landed well short of the brood of ‘stealers located in the middle. Squad Tiamat advanced and reported line of sight with the carnifex.

    Tyranid Turn 2
To the left, the first zoanthrope lurked behind a tree, attempting to fire a warp blast but missing. Behind it a brood of hormogaunts followed, half their numbers now visible as they cleared the tree line. Towards the bushes on the right, the second zoanthrope moved and fired….but its warp blast fizzled out as it neared Squad Micon. The trio of Tyranid warriors behind zoanthrope no. 2 scuttled closer. In the middle more ‘stealers showed themselves as the emerged from some trees and advanced to the left, heading for Lt. Grekar and Squad Moloch. The carnifex attempted 2 shots at Squad Tiamat at the right but missed. The last brood of hormogaunts now positioned themselves in the middle of some vegetation, not far from where the carnifex was standing.

    Chaos Turn 3
Lt. Grekar and Squad Moloch showed no fear by advancing forward, their right flank protected by a couple of ruined buildings, glimpsing some ‘stealers to their right and the zoanthrope and hormogaunts in front. Their combined fire took out 4 hormogaunts. Lagging behind, Squad Micon sighted the second zoanthrope to their right and wasted it with a direct lascannon hit. The Predator’s gunner grinned as he saw the zoanthrope skulking behind a fir tree and blew it to pieces with its turret mounted lascannons. The defiler launched a devastating salvo into the midst of the ‘stealers, blowing up 3. Squad Tiamat resolutely marched forward, their LOS to the carnifex now blocked by an outcropping of rock. Enemy hormogaunts sighted in medium range…

    Tyranid Turn 3
The first group of hormogaunts failed their Ld test and lurked about among the trees, intimidated by the brutal death of the zoanthrope. Showing no fear, the Tyranid Warriors moved closer towards the main Chaos force, nearing the remains of the second zoanthrope. The ‘stealers continued scuttling towards Squad Moloch and the Chaos Lt while the carnifex stomped forwards and fired at the Predator, succeeding in immobilizing the tank. The last group of hormogaunts rushed past some vegetation and raced towards the rocky outcropping where Squad Tiamat was positioned.

    Chaos Turn 4
The predator’s crew vented their frustration at being immobilized by firing at the carnifex, succeeding it reducing it to a single wound. Lt. Grekar and Squad Moloch edged towards the not too distant Tyranid warriors and hugged the wall of the building next to them. Squad Micon stayed put, on the lookout for more threats. On the far right, Squad Tiamat cleared the rocky outcropping beside them and prepared for the order to charge the nearby brood of hormogaunts. The defiler thundered another shot and wiped out 3 more ‘stealers.

    Tyranid Turn 4
With shocking speed, the remainder of the first hormogaunt brood darted out from the trees and slammed into Squad Moloch, just out of the Chaos Lt’s reach. Tyranid warriors continued plodding forward, and charged! The carnifex was now quite near the Predator. It braced itself beside a ruined building and fired its arsenal, stunning the tank’s crew. The ‘stealers rounded a hill and closed in towards Lt. Grekar and his nearby men. The last brood of gaunts rushed into Squad Tiamat, who waited in vain for the order to charge! Close combat saw the first gaunt brood completely wiped out by Lt. Grekar and Squad Moloch, with 3 marines going down cursing to the claws of the Warrior brood. The Lt himself took a grievous wound. Squad Tiamat took out 2 gaunts while losing 2 men to the onslaught of chitin and claws.

    Chaos Turn 5
Lt Grekar and Squad Moloch endured the claws of the Warriors, losing more men and Grekar himself snarling as the alien’s claws bit deep again. The marines countered with a barrage of blows, managing to smash a warrior to bits while wounding the other 2. The predator also fired a salvo at the nearby Carnifex but also missed. Squad Tiamat stayed firm and took out 2 more gaunts. Squad Moloch advanced and prepared to reinforce the Lt ahead of them. The defiler boomed and another 3 ‘stealers perished, leaving organic trace remains.

    Tyranid Turn 5
The warriors slashed and clawed, leaving Grekar and Moloch surrounded by their dead comrades. Meanwhile, the carnifex barged into the predator and tore it open, causing internal detonations that failed to sunder it totally. The ‘stealers skittered towards the Lt, but were still out of charging range. The last gaunt brood took out Squad Tiamat, but not before losing more bugs.

    Chaos Turn 6
The defiler roared and its reaper autocannon chattered, but pinged off the carnifex’s thick hide. The combined assault of Lt. Grekar, Moloch and Squad Micon annihilated the Warriors, and they consolidated their ground. Silence indicated that Squad Tiamat had not made it.
    Tyranid Turn 6
The stealers moved and tried to rush Squad Micon, Grekar and Moloch, but landed short. The remaining gaunts moved into enemy territory while the carnifex also advanced into hostile territory.

Awright! Keep on rollin rollin, rollin......

Read & enjoy, tho I kinda rushed this one...very technically written

750 Pts Cleanse Mission (Khorne guys vs Tyranids)

    Chaos Turn 1

2 squads of berserkers fanned out, giving in to their bloodlust and charging across the battlefield towards the alien enemy. The lone predator tank rumbled into a corner and waited for a target to kill. A couple of Obliterators took a stand somewhere in the backline and spotted a brood of hormogaunts, with ‘stealers lurking behind it. The Daemon Prince flapped his wings and flew up to the gangway of the abandoned Imperial Firebase. The air was charged with tension…

Predator fires, kills 3 hormogaunts from its havoc launchers and lascannons. The Obliterators annihilated 2 more similar creatures and laughed.

    Tyranid Turn 1

Mass movements by the alien scums as the broods positioned themselves closer to the enemy. The broods of hormogaunts moved increadibly fast, like they had 6 legs instead of 2. The carnifex bellowed a hideous scream and its venom cannon found the hull of the Chaos predator, shaking its crew. Both the brood’s Zoanthropes blasts 3 and 2 berserkers from separate squads into bits respectively with their warp discharges.

During the assault phase the first brood of gaunts barge into a squad of berserkers near the Firebase, downing one.

    Chaos Turn 2

With a roar the Daemon Prince took flight and slammed into the midst of the alien group, landing in the middle of a trio of Tyranid Warriors. The Obliterators opened up with lascannons and splattered a Zoanthrope, leaving just its hooves on the ground. In the assault phase the last remaining berserker in the middle yelled “Blood for blood god!? and swung his chainaxe, beheading 1 hormogaunt even as he is pierced by a dozen claws. The Daemon Prince spits on the ground and managed to kill 1 and wound another Tyranid Warrior. He himself bears a wound where a claw hit him.

    Tyranid Turn 2

The last Zoanthrope floats forward even as the lumbering Carnifex as well as a brood of hormogaunts do the same. Carnifex’s venom cannon spits at the predator tank, immobilizing it. The other brood of gaunts vault over the bodies of a squad of berserkers and reaches the Obliterators. Their pathetic attempts amuse the Obliterators as they casually smack 2 apart. In the middle, hissing ‘stealers all swarm around the Daemon Prince and makes him pay fatally for his impudence. The price is heavy as the dying Daemon Prince takes down the last 2 Tyranid Warriors with him to the warp.

    Chaos Turn 3

Predator fires at the Carnifex, wounding it heavily. Combat between both parties are ineffectual.

    Tyranid Turn 3

The gaunts try again and scratch the armor of the Obliterators and the return blows sends more hormogaunt body parts flying. As a result of having no mind to lead them, all hormogaunts begin to lose control and starts lurking, no doubt looking for easier prey.
The Carnifex blasts its weapon at the last berserker squad in some jungle trees and sends 1 crumbling to the ground. It charges and takes their weak blows before dismembering the remnants apart, showering the trees with red gore.

    Chaos Turn 4

The ponderous Obliterators begin to move and fire their autocannons at the ‘stealers some ways ahead of them, succeeding in killing 2. The immobile predator shoots and misses the same aliens.

    Tyranid Turn 4

The Carnifex emerges from the trees and squints as it takes aim at the predator’s side, punching 2 steaming holes that makes the Chaos tank jump as its ammo detonates. A solitary and suicidal gaunt storms the standing Obliterators and gets turned to paste. A brood of hormogaunts ahead decide to head for the near table edge as the Hive Mind’s lack of presence is prominent.

    Chaos Turn 5

The 2 Obliterators open up and catches 1 single ‘stealer.

    Tyranid Turn 5

More scuttling and skittering as the remaining bugs attempt to engage in assault. A group of hormogaunts can’t decide whether to quit or continue approaching the enemy.

    Chaos Turn 6

The sole survivors, the Obliterators, miss their shots at the last incoming Zoanthrope.

    Tyranid Turn 6

The aliens fail to close in on the Obliterators as the game ends.

    Tyranid Victory.

OK! Here's one more that was fought yesterday...all these reports are related to the Thunderhawk Down! scenario. In the scenario, different factions are fighting for control of the downed Thunderhawk. This is the 3rd Chaos player that we have....long live Chaos!

750 pts Patrol Mission (Night Lords vs Tyranids)
The main terrain piece is an Imperial Firebase in the middle of the table, with just a ridge of trees at a corner and some hills, trees and a rocky formation at the tyranid's length of the table. A large space of open ground lies in front of the ridge of trees, where the Night Lords player has chosen his deployment zone....

    Tyranid Turn 1

Hormogaunts are deployed, moving towards the firebase in the middle of the map.

    Chaos Turn 1

A single tactical squad deploys in a ridge of trees, staying put.

    Tyranid Turn 2

Carnifex and ‘stealers come in. Carnifex hides behind cover even as more hormogaunts lurk among the firebase.

    Chaos Turn 2

The majority of Chaos forces are in. Mass formation movements as the Chaos battle line gets into position and sets up fire zones.

    Tyranid Turn 3

Tyranid Warriors emerge. Another brood of hormogaunts appear. The monstrous carnifex lumbers into a small forest, closely followed by the trio of Warriors. Not too far from the synapse creatures are a brood of gaunts. ‘Stealers scuttle towards the firebase.

    Chaos Turn 3

Furies are summoned. Havocs stride in with their heavy weapons, joking about ‘mashing some bugs’. The defiler’s main gun booms…and misses miserably. Lascannon fire from a tactical squad atomizes a luckless Tyranid Warrior.

    Tyranid Turn 4

Some gaunts lurk at the base of the firebase. Carnifex lumbers out of the woods, facing the Chaos battle line. Second brood of gaunts moves. Genestealers do the same, bypassing the firebase’s first pillar in the far end of the map. Carnifex screeches and fires venom cannon, beheading a night lord marine.

    Chaos Turn 4

Defiler fires ordnance and misses again. Shots flicker from the ridgeline. A frag missile zooms from some bushes, speeds across open ground and blows 4 hormogaunts to pieces.

    Tyranid Turn 5

Carnifex advances. Tyranid Warriors do the same. A brood of gaunts emerge from the cover of the firebase…into open ground. The second group of gaunts also emerge into open ground. Carnifex fires and misses, killing some trees.

    Chaos Turn 5

Defiler blasts its cannon…its on target, but scatters off. No pizza this time.
Steadying himself, a night lord marine fires his lascannon at the carnifex. The monster is saved by a tree branch. A krak missile zips past the carnifex’s low head. Another frag missile slams into the same brood of gaunts, taking out 3 more. A lascannon shot misses its target.

    Tyranid Turn 6

Zoanthropes finally come into play. The first gaunt brood that emerged from firebase cover falls back into cover. Tyranid Warriors scuttle forward. Carnifex fires at Havoc squad, hits, no casualties.

    Chaos Turn 6

Night lords still holding position in ridge. Defiler boom again…the shell landing among the Carnifex and Tyranid Warriors. Carnifex is wounded by shrapnel and 1 Tyranid Warrior’s body parts litter the crater. Krak missile misses. Another lascannon shot hits the Carnifex, but some rocks saves the abomination. Mass bolter fire downs 1 single gaunt.

    Tyranid Turn 7

Carnifex lumbers closer, standing near a rocky formation. It fires, hits, no wounds. The rest of the Tyranid army either stays put or lurks about.

    Chaos Turn 7

Defiler misses its barrage. A lascannon shot and krak missile slams into the Carnifex, reducing it to a single wound. The ridgeline lights up with muzzle flares as mass bolters open fire at the Carnifex and punctures it full of holes, its steaming body lying on the ground. A frag missile detonates among the ‘stealers but kills nothing.

    Chaos Wins.

Night Lords vs Tau (Patrol Mission 750 pts)

    Tau Forces:
1 HQ - Commander in Crisis Suit with Plasma Rifle and missile pods.

Elite - 1 Bodyguard in Crisis Suit with Fusion Blaster and Plasma rifle.

Troops - 2 squads of Firewarriors with plasma rifles and 1 sgt with pulse carbine each.

Heavy - 2 Hammerheads. 1 with Railgun and Sms. The other with Ion Cannon and missile pods + disruption web and flechette launcher.

    Night Lords Forces:
HQ - Lt. Hannudral with personal Icon and bolter.

    Fast Attack - 7 Furies.

Troops - Sq Lucidus (5 CSM w lascannon), Sq Lunisius (5 CSM w lascannon), Sq Markius (5 CSM w missile launcher).

Heavy - Defiler + Havok squad (5 CSM, Missile launcher x3)

    Fluff:
"Get those pulsar detonators set-up!" growled Lt. Hannudral, kicking his deep blue helmet into some rocks. That was the third helmet that had commlink malfunction, curse those lazy techmarine slaves! Well, he thought, I guess I'll have to go into a fight without one for a while. Unconsciously, he rubbed his bald pate as he surveyed his Night Lords troops who were breaking camp.

The Night Lords have arrived at this lush jungle world a week ago, and so far have had nothing to do but vandalize local foliage and kill some local fauna. All that was about to change soon...

"Ok men! One more patrol and we've secured this misbegotten, bug filled garden. Move out!" ordered the Lt.

    Tau Turn 1

Surveying the Night Lords' movement below him, the Tau commander gave the order for one of his Firewarrior squads to engage them first, while the rest took up rearguard position and engagement vectors. The Firewarrior squad of ten men appeared at the edge of the jungle, warily scanning their surroundings.

    Night Lords Turn 1

Unbeknownst to the Tau, Sq Markius had been watching their movement since Lt. Hannudral ordered them to guard this spot and stay awake. After 3 days of sleeping on the jungle floor and cleaning weapons, their trigger fingers itched. A single krak missile flew out from a cluster of trees, the dud not exploding but decapitating a luckless Firewarrior.

    Tau Turn 2

Seeing that their ambushers seemed to be hiding in greater numbers than expected, the Tau commander sent in more troops. Another squad of Firewarrios move in and fan out among more vegetation. With a whine, a Tau Hammerhead tank armed with a railgun and SMS system glided behind an old, jungle covered building. The skimmer proceeds to fire a submunition round, fatally wounding a hidden Night Lord marine.

    Night Lords Turn 2

"We've got enemy contacts, multiple targets" reported Sq. Markius. "Roger that", came the reply as Squad Lucidus ran across some open ground, taking cover in a blown-out bunker. With a screech of metal and belch of smoke, the Night Lords defiler trampled its way through bushes and positioned itself behind Squad Markius and jungle trees, its cannon muzzle elevating.

Sq. Markius fired off another krak missile, but it flew wide.

    Tau Turn 3

The Tau commander activated his booster jets and flew into the combat zone, with the second Hammerhead coming into view to his far left, bolstering the strength of a Firewarrior squad there. Covering more ground, the Firewarriors stumble upon a rusted and abandoned Firebase, covered in jungle moss and vines. The Hammerhead with railgun repositions itself for better LOS. The newly arrived Hammerhead with Ion Cannon zooms forward, its Ion Cannon glowing blue as it fires at Sq. Markius' location. It vaporizes a few tree branches but causes no casualties. The other Hammerhead fires another submunition round but its gunner misjudges the trajectory and the round also missed.

    Night Lords Turn 3

Lt. Hannudral appears together with Sq. Lunisius and they reinforce Sq. Markius position, waiting for enemy troops to appear. The defiler's main gun thunders a shot that slams into the railgun toting Hammerhead, blowing the menacing weapon from its mountings. Sq. Markius fires another krak missile that misses once again!

    Tau Turn 4

The Tau bodyguard in crisis suit finally found his trail in his suit map and jumped in. The second squad of firewarriors move in, circling the old Firebase. The Hammerhead tank with Ion Cannon speeds up, covering more jungle ground. Its gunner releases a Ion Cannon shot that disintegrates 2 members of Sq. Markius.

    Night Lords Turn 4

The Havoc squad finally appears, its members looking sheepish and blaming treacherous jungle conditions for their delay. Sq. Lunisius moves closer to the right of Sq. Markius, aiming their gun barrels at the enemy's direction. The defiler fires another cannon round that slams into the midst of the first Firewarrior squad, killing 3 more of its members. Sq. Lucidus's lascannon man fires at the crippled Hammerhead without its railgun, but missed.

    Tau Turn 5

The bodyguard jumps closer to the enemy, using the Firebase as shelter. More Firewarriors bravely advance, their bonded vows holding them together. With a gust of wind, the Tau commander jets to the top of the rusty Firebase, finally able to observe the enemy's formations. The second Hammerhead glides forward and activates its burst cannons at Sq. Markius, however their shots ping off the power armour. The tank gunner launches a spread of mini-missiles, but the explosion reveals no damage to the men. Angered by the destruction of their railgun, the first Hammerhead crew launches SMS at the nearby Sq. Lucidus, but no casualties are caused. The Tau commander and his bodyguard then consolidates by moving a few feet forward for better covering fire.

    Night Lords Turn 5

The Havoc squad positions themselves behind lots of trees, knowing from the evil chuckle of Lt. Hannudral that this battle was going to be over soon. The defiler once again boomed its defiance, its shot landing exactly in the rear of the depleted Firewarrior squad again, killing another 3. The bonded aliens decide to drop their guns and flee! Sq. Lucidus's lascannon marine misses again and earns a smack on the helmet from its members. Sq. Markius' krak missile flies true and detonates against the approaching Hammerhead with Ion Cannon, causing its anti-grav engines to stall, the crash impact killing all its crew.

    Tau Turn 6

The Tau commander sternly orders his men to hold their ground and covers more ground together with his bodyguard. The remaining Hammerhead retreats to hide behind an old bunker and launches SMS. The missile strike is on target but once again the Night Lords armour proves well maintained. The Tau Bodyguard fires its fusion blaster and vaporizes a marine from Sq. Markius. The last member from Sq. Markius is wiped out as missiles from the Tau commander's pods blow him and his cover to bits.

    Night Lords Turn 6

The daemon within the defiler cackles and lobs another shell at the furthest squad of Firewarriors, who have wisely decided to take cover under a long metal shelter. The uncanny accuracy of the daemonic guided shot lands right on top of the shelter, collapsing it and blowing 6 of the Firewarriors to smithereens!

    Game Ends! Night Lords win.
