Default Vogen '09 Campaign Log

Hey guys, I thought some of you might be interested in seeing the results of a campaign I'm currently running. I intend this thread to be a log of the rules and turn progress. I hope to be posting a few battle reports in the Battle Report Forum that I can also link back to here.

Vogen '09 is essentially the old cityfight campaign released by GW with a few adaptions made by myself to bring it up to date with 5th ed. I also devised a mechanism for random game sizes (including the chance to play apocalypse games), modified some of the scenarios and changed the rules on alliances.

Check out my versions of the relevant rules here:

Campaign Main Rules
Map Location Rules
Campaign Map

I'm a student and I don't tend to play many games while at university. However, I have a good core of friends back home who have the GW bug and I take the opportunity to get as many games as possible done over the holidays. This campaign should run from now till late summer '09. Because we can only meet up during our holidays its obviously going to be a slow burning affair, but it should help to link our games up over the next year.

We've got six campaign players:

Alex - Playing Tyranids
Conor - Playing Dark Angels (This is yours truly)
Mullen - Playing Black Templars
Sam - Playing Imperial Guard
Vessey - Playing Necrons
Wookie - Playing Eldar

The 1 Territory with mixed bands of colour indicate games yet to be played. They are counted as contested territories.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm new to campaigns. The white on the map is obviously uncontrolled territory, right? Well how do you gain control, but just declaring that you're moving in to it and avoid a fight or are there IDF forces protecting said area?

Not a problem mate. Yeah the white areas are uncontrolled. To occupy them you simply use your campaign move to claim one. There are no PDF guys there to fight or anything - you only fight a battle if you move into a territory occupied by another player.

Its all detailed in the campaign rules, theres a link in the first post

I would've loved to be a part of this. Considering that my BA successor chapter has Khai-zann as it's homeworld and calls it's Death Company the Sons of Vogen. (they believe that the affliction is due to the toppling of the Angel's statue)

Good to see such effort gone into a campaign! I'm keeping my eye on this thread. You should design a campaign logo and paint it on your models.

Thanks for the comments guys

I'm afriad to report that this Campaign has kinda ground to a halt. It was supposed to be restarted this summer but two of the key players (Alex and Sam) have had to move away, so I'm a bit stuck as to how to continue.

I'm throwing around some ideas as to what to do for this summers gaming. I'm considering trying to get a few mates to dive into the world of Necromunda. I like the idea of not having to do much painting for it!

What ever happens you can be sure there will be full reports on here
