I´am prepering this years anual apocalypse battle at the local Convent called Calcon.
The background story starts to take form but I still need some good intro storys for all the diffrent races.
The only races thats missing from this huge battle is at this moment Necron and Dark Eldars.
So those two don´t need an intro.
The concept is that a huge becon beneath a chapel has started transmitting some really weird signals. Read the whole story to get the picture.
My problem now is to find some good reason why a Tau strikeforce should join up with Orks, SM, WH, Nids and so on.
What is the orks plan?
Why aren´t the Nids just ripping apart the nearest enemy squad?
If have any suggestions what so ever, please tell me!Chapel of Ghouls
There it stood among the windswept wastes of the small Imperial backwater planet of Ardonis. As proud as ever, not even a scratch on its surface even though it had been built countless millennia ago. Not even a thousand years of constant war had touched its black walls. This colossal chapel was probably the only intact building on this planet’s surface and its mere presence was so sinister that the long since inbred and abandoned surviving remains of the population kept away from it.
It had an aura of absolute evil, even the sky above the building always kept a bruised color. None dared to venture inside, and little did they know of the unspoken horrors that slept within those walls.
Deep beneath the gothic building, Abigor the herald of Khorne, sat atop his throne of bones and smiled wickedly as he watched his cultists’ labor around a new device that would please his master. Forged from the pain and suffering of this planet along with unholy metals brought to him from the Eye of Terror, Abigor had created a machine, a beacon, that would lure the weak minded fools of the Imperium to this very planet. Promises of fortune and glory would turn out to be fields of slaughter as his damned legions would maim and butcher for Khorne, giving the god of war a show he wouldn’t forget in ages to come.
Abigor rose from his throne and walked the stairs up to one of the towers. Standing next to one of the dirty windows he watched his personal pet traitor legion, the Cadian 5th, assemble en masse around the stretching wasteland surrounding the chapel. They were the first to fall to the empty promises of his master with the help of the machine, their will was utterly broken, and not even the most stoic commander or commissar could withstand it. Now these battle hardened veterans were ready to sacrifice their lives and souls to the whims of their new master.
Even now several fleets had been lured to journey across the cold and unforgiving emptiness of space towards the echoing promises of Ardonis. Meanwhile back on the planet surface, a gust of wind blew through the tower, it sounded like a painful moaning, hence giving the chapel it’s name – “The Chapel of Ghouls”. Abigor raised his gaze from the gathering forces on the ground towards the bruised sky. A storm was coming, the nuclear kind.
Interesting story. As regards the Necrons- maybe its a Necron Tomb World (which no-one knows)and all the activity awakens them.
And as for Dark Eldar? Perhaps they learn of it from a bunch of Harlequins who know why craftworld Eldar are going to the planet-the Dark ELdar decide to take advantage of the slaughter to hunt some slaves in large quantities.
*Edit* Ok actually having re-read the post I see thats not what you were asking at all. D'oh!
So to answer what you asked:
Orks are drawn to the fighting as normal no plan other than to prove 'dey is da best'
What way is the battle being played? What is on each side?

Currently play: 4000+ of Black Legion
On one side stands a massive Imperial Guard division that is currupted be the chaos lord.
They are supported by 3000pts of Chaos SM.
On the other side stand the once that heard the signal and was seduced but the message.
It´s a huge Eldar force with titans and super heavy tanks.
And a ork warband of about 6000pts.
And a Tau cadre consisting of 4000pts.
Maybe that a Space Marine Company joins the fight as well.
