    2k Vote War: Round 5, Match 4… Karmoon vs. Arky

    Let the battle Commence!

    PLEASE NOTE: All board edges and turn orders will be determined randomly!

    This will be a Gamma level secure and control mission using the infiltrate, deepstrike, and victory point special rules. Karmoon will have the north board edge and the first turn while Arky will have the south board edge and the second turn.

    Are we allowed to start voting yet? I don't know, this is a first fo rme.

    I think Karmoon will win this game as while Arky has serious AT arky has none. Although things like the oblit and termies will be nuked fairly easily (unless they're hidden well desspstike etc etc.)

    Karmoon also has a lot of anti-MEQ type guns which is bad for arky as his bikes are quite expensive... Arky has much better manouverablity which will help greatly but I think Karmoon will be able to take units out through deepstriking the termis and maybe the oblits too.
    Anyone find it funny that Cities of Death show the two worst combat armies in the game ... in combat!

    You can vote.. but it's preferable to wait until after tactics have been posted.

    I appreciate that this goes against me.. however fair is fair.

    With 40K, especially new Chaos, how you apply the list is very important,

    But there's nothing to stop you changing your vote based on information to hand.

    ROIGHT! a battle we have here! well i reckon i have a good chance of winning due to a few reasons.

    1: well the obvious one is that I’m VERY manoeuvrable. I’ve got all the nice and pretty rules attached to space marine bikes and expert riders to blitz me through cover and envelop karmoon’s troops on the table.

    2: lots and lots of ap 1 and 2 weapons. yep, I’ve got lots of it and its all pretty high strength too. through superior mobility i should logically be able to bring all of my plasma guns to bare without much hassle and still have good odds of ripping the poor chaoslings to fine shreds. multi meltas lacking tanks means someone is going to suffer from overkill. on the upside there are lots of terminators and oblits kicking around giving them lots of targets. and if I’m not mistaken oblits can be instant killed by meltas now (correct me if I’m wrong). The tanks are in a grey area sadly... what with having light-medium infantry mauling weapons on one hand and tank pounding weapons on the other. The only logical course of action is to have them work together and use their solid long range to splatter enemy units under pure weight of S5/7 and the punishing power of las cannon fire. Of course once the oblits arrive the annihilator could have a fun time instant killing them with its las cannons.

    3: unreliability of deep striking. its not the most obvious strength for me but its still there. Depending if karmoon chooses to deep strike the termies and the oblits his army on the table will be VERY small for the first 2 turns (assuming 2/4 units pass thier tests.) using my dramatic speed to my advantage the bikes could very well be ontop of the chaos before their reinforcements arrive.

    the key to winning this will be jumping on the chaos VERY quickly and take advantage of their early lack of numbers. With the tanks providing a huge amount of firepower and the bikes being so nippy this won't be particularly difficult ^_^

    If Karmoon doesn't deep-strike he has serious problems claiming objectives. If he does then his army can be taken apart bit by bit by the bikes. Lose/Lose either way.

    The bikes spread out as far as they can to avoid plasma cannons, then run up as close as possible to the oblitz and plasma/melta them out of it. Melta instant-kills them after all.

    Next Karmoon has precisely zero tanks so Arky's lack of anti-tank power is irrelevant. This is a great matchup.

    I also see a Captain (and maybe a few bikes) slamming straight into the normal marines and tearing them to shreds.

    Basically Karmoon is going to be out-maneuvered and beaten in cc. Then his oblitz and havocs aren't enough to save the day.

    Its going to be hard to avoid the overwhemling bikes, with such amounts of plasma and the rediculous amount of speed. Your Raptors are going to need to be on the game of thre lives.

    Agreed, based upon mission and Arky's tactics, my gut is saying Marines. But I will give Karmoon a chance to provide his strategy and tactics.
