    Tactical Statement

My tactics are quite simple. The Sorceror will start with the Raptors, or alone if the terrain can cover him enough. He will lash valuable targets into range of my more devistating weaponary, such as the havocs for light armoured units, or into the raptors and bikes for the heavier targets. Shoot away!!!
    Da purpla 'eads

    Tactic:

One team hold home objective and the others move foward to the enemy. If it is a kill all mission all sqauds will move forward as an moving gun line. Simple

Wow, missed round 1 all ready! I've gotta pay more attention.

This seems pretty simple. The Havocs and Noise Marines will do quite a bit of damage at first, however when the Orks get in range, the small unit sizes of Chaos will be easy KP for the Orks. I see Chaos getting 2 points max, whilst Orks should eliminate all the Noise Marines, the Bikes, and quite possibly 2 out of 3 of the Havocs and Raptors.

    Orks should win.

Are you sure it's going to be so simple? Chaos can lay down an incredible amount of punishing fire. Between the Noise Marines and the Havocs, they can claim almost an entire squad. The Lash, combined with clever charges from the Raptors and Bikes, could really do golden. It'd take some work though.

Biggest concern here would be wiping out WHOLE Ork squads, where Chaos has a few more 'squishy' units. Looking for some arguements before I commit to voting.

The most convincing argument that I can think of is that The Deafening Noisemakers went up a very similar list last round, and were thoroughly trounced. This list boasts 20 extra Orks, a KFF (meh), and Bosspoles on the Nobs. The other list had... rokkits.

    Edit -
Not to mention that the Orks deploy second and move first, have enough firepower to remove whole Chaos squads, and have two less kill points.

Well buggery. The hydra posted my thoughts before me (well, the Edit anyway). Orks take the win through sheer volume of firepower and superior ability to claim Kill Points.

The sheer volume of mobile firepower from the Orks will undo the chaos army. I really can't see the Noisemarines making any real difference.

Orks for a fairly solid win.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.

Yeah, I noticed it too. Most unfortunate for that player. I was hoping I could get a little more discussion going.

I hadn't noticed that they siezed. And Dawn of War is rather unfavorable for Chaos. Who could fare much better if they had all their guns to bear from turn one.

Dawn of War certainly gimps the CSM shooting, especially since the Havocs must waste an entire turn just coming on the board. The CSM shooting is further staved off by the KFF, granting the walking cover save.

While I'm certain that some slick use of the Lash and smart charges from the raptors/bikes can make a difference, I don't think its quite enough when you consider the Orks seizing initiative. I give Orks the edge here.

Orks, for pretty much the same reasons that everyone else has. The only chance Chaos would have is superior firepower and they won't have it in Dawn of War.

Orks, poor chaos, being badly mauled by seemingly numberless horde ork armies, and twce in a row. Bad luck...
