In a spearhead deployment, I expect the Imperial guard regiment to deploy everything so I would be forced to march into his guns. The scout walkers will probably range ahead aiming for my transports. I will deploy both units of terminators in cover, and make a wedge with my 3 predators. Behind the predators, two squads will deploy with their razorbacks. Placement in such a way that the AV 13 front of the preds protects the razorbacks. The rest of my units will stay in reserve and come in on my table edge.
Since it is Seize Ground, I will initially keep away from the objectives, luring my opponent to either pursue the objectives or my forces. First targets will be the scout walkers. The tank hunter terminators will focus first on the hydra squadron and then the leman russes and then targets of opportunity. When the speeders come in from my board edge, they will in be in a position where they can target side armour and zip along the. Reserved razorbacks will try and take the 2nd objective Basically holding my own objectives and contesting my opponent’s objectives.
Vote closes on Friday 18th of March at 1800 PM. Votes as usual must be in bold, and posted along with a reason. It doesn't have to be good mind you, just written down. Crap reasons will have no negative repercussions aside from your peers thinking you are an idiot.
The Black Templars have chosen their guns more efficiently and have better tactics for deploying the Firebase.
Wow, that's one shooty BT army! I actually think that BT will outshoot guards in this matchup. That's 16 S9 shots, of which 4 are twin-linked as well as decent anti-infantry in the dakkapreds and typhoons. BT's are a much, much improved army ever since their new FAQ came out.
Record: Win - Loss - Draw: Hive Fleet Pandora (New) 32-6-6 Space Wolf 7th Co. 52-11-6
Blood Angels 12-4-2 Daemonhunters 20-8-3
Imperial Guards 12-5-2 Daemons 8-3-2
I'm going to give it to Vindictive Crusade, I just don't see those guard taking on all those razorbacks, speeders and predators...
If someone helps you, rep them.
In a votewar you don't vote on a single match, you vote on the entire round. Got that?
Ooh...this is tough. With five lascannons, seven HK missiles, three hydras, and nine autocannons blasting at three preds (for lack of LOS to the planned targets of each of those units), those predators will die immediately. Also, the chimeras do have their front armor facing where the BT reserves are planning to come on, reducing the likelihood of exposing AV10...Reserving the bulk of the antitank lets the russes live a little longer. I don't see anything but tank hunting cyclones having LOS on turn one, unless a predator vaporizes and opens a fire lane for the razorback behind it. On the other hand, the BT have plenty of antitank and the guard went a little light on scoring units. Both sides will certainly be able to hold their home objectives, and both sides will certainly lose all of their vehicles. I don't think either side will be able to contest the deep objective, and both sides will be able to contest the middle one. I'd vote for a tie (1 OBJ each) if I could...but I can't, so I'm going to go all contrarian and give a vote to the guard. With five lascannons, seven HK missiles, two hydras (the bane of speeders!), two miltilasers, six heavy bolters, and nine autocannons, not to mention the assorted special weapons, against four AV11, three AV10, and three AV13 vehicles? That's the easy part! The hard part is killing off the scoring unit that's holding the BT's home objective when there's no guarantee of being able to target them with anything but the pair of AP4 templates...I just don't see those guard taking on all those razorbacks, speeders and predators

Black Templars. Both sides are capable of unleashing anti-tank hell, as you can see, but I think the Templars' controller has a better idea of what they are doing, as well as a better plan (Hydras not going for Land Speeders first?!). Hydras will die quickly, as will the Sentinels, no matter how many Predators blow up. Land Speeders and Razorbacks coming on later will cause mayhem. The only question is how much the infantry will suffer.
I wanted to say guard, i really did, but BT have :
A) Put down objectives in their tactics (not that i am in agreement that much on what they've done) and
Will take and Deal out a lot of damage. There's gonna be alot of dying, and the troop choices both going for the same objectives will have a clear winner: Not guard.

The IG have a solid strategy...for an annihilation game. This is an objective game, and their tactics suggest that they aren't giving even the slightest effort to take 2/3 objectives. They have a ton of shooting, but the Black Templar have enough shooting of their own to at least hold them off, and since the Black Templar have a plan for taking objectives, I have to give the win to the Black Templar.
