I set up on the "non building" side of the map. Arranging skimmers to hide the lower flying serpent with the warlocks and Eldrad (who ignores Shadow of the Warp), and giving at least cover for the prisms. I set the fire dragon serpents on the line. I'll likely use Eldrad’s ability to reposition a fire prism or two and maybe a screening wave serpent to provide them clean shots after their move on biovors or barring that hive guard.
A tactic this lists uses regularly is positioning skimmers, often aided bya star engine move at the end of the shooting phase, to block LOS or at least block assaults and give a cover save to troops or prisms.
If my opponent put hive guard or the Tyrannofex within the fire dragon’s hop, deploy, and fire range, but doesn’t have almost all of his forces there, I likely lay down all 15 meltas on turn one, especially if I’ve thinned out the biovores. Generally I’m looking to wipe out that portion of his forces quickly, including sneaky stealers that come around.
If he puts almost all his forces directly across from me on the non-building side than I’ve got room to play with on the building side and will be less aggressive while I’m shooting away outside of hive guard range. Having most of my skimmers in the endgame would make for easy contesting.
In either case, the endgame is aggressively taking maybe just one objective and contesting the rest.
Hive Fleet Macarbe
"Patronus" 2x Tyrant Guards w/ Lash Whips
"Tres Fatum" 3x Hive Guards
"Tres Fatum" 3x Hive Guards
"Bi Fatum" 2x Hive Guards
"Alma Mater" Tervigon w/ Catalyst, Cluster Spines, Toxin Sacs
"Turha" 13x Termagants

The termagaunts go in front with the hormagaunts behind. The swarmlord flanked by the tervigon follows behind. The hive guards behind the tervigon with the big T-fex behind them.
Only 15 troops to deal with? I think YAY! This elder list lacks the sheer amount of fire power to deal with my Nids, and disable my scoring units. Those wave-serpents won’t last long at all with my hive Guards around. Ill focus on the DA troop serpents and disable their scoring units very quickly. Pop the transport with hive guards then flush them out with biovores or charge them in CC, either way they won’t last. The tyrannofex can deal with any vehicle he wants. He will be focusing on the fire prisim’s early and destroy them all within a few turns. The swarmlord can act as a fire magnet, whilst annihilating anything he touches. My tervigons FNP him and spam gaunts. The stealers will make a move on his home base whilst everything advances up, if I bang the hive guards in some cover and keep him at bay (With no transports he is in serious trouble) this will be a quick battle. All I need to do is tie up his fire dragons and he is pretty much disabled to kill my MC. Once his troops fall its game over, with the sheer outnumbered amount of troops this is will be a breeze. It’s a solid list but lacks the capability to deal with a list like mine.
Vote closes on Thursday 31st of March at 1800 PM. Votes as usual must be in bold, and posted along with a reason. It doesn't have to be good mind you, just written down. Crap reasons will have no negative repercussions aside from your peers thinking you are an idiot.
If no tactics have been submitted, please assume average skill level for that player.
Ohhhh... tough one to call. However I give it VERY narrowly to Hive Fleet Macarbre
My reasoning: The eldar list only has 3, 5 man troops. The nid list however has tervigons, so thats 5 troops straight off the bat, with a minimum of 7 available, and more like 9-10. With that in mind, and the hive guard/biovores on anti-troop duty from the start, I think the eldar are actually going to struggle to claim any objectives. Contesting however wont be an issue for obvious reasons.
I think the eldar have better overall tactics, and it wont be as easy to tie up the dragons as Macarbre thinks. I can see the nids taking big casualtys, until the swarmlord can come into play.
But in the end with only 3 troops being targeted as a prioritory for the eldar is going to hurt. I dont think they'll have anything left to claim objectives, and I think the nids could well end up with too many objective claiming units to be pushed off them all. I could honestly see this being a draw, but that would really depend on the luck on the day.
Your friendly neighbourhood gargantuan creature
I do think that Hive Fleet Macarbre will get more objectives
So many more troops, if they only down a serpent or even two with the troops inside, it cant end in a draw, so victory will go to the hive
Hive Fleet Macarbre
Like it's stated above. Too few troops by the Eldar. With 5 objectives and all the Tyranid shooting, I'm sure the bugs can kill all the avengers and secure one objective.
Hive Fleet Macabre.
same reasons as everyone has already stated.
Hive Fleet Barbarossa: 1700 points
Lizardmen: 1500 points
Agreed. The Eldar troops can be shot down, but the Tyranids can pressure every objective at once.
Wave Serpent-spam and going first. Yes, only 3 5-man troops but those fire prisms are going to just dakka the hell out of everything. I've seen 'nid lists like this drop fast against Eldar lists like this. My vote goes to the Eldar.
If someone helps you, rep them.
In a votewar you don't vote on a single match, you vote on the entire round. Got that?
Hive Fleet Macarbre
Same reasons previously posted. 1 troop lost for the Eldar = loss. Too hard to spend the entire game hiding them.
