Mission: Capture and Control
Scions of Chemos deploy in the top left and go first.

I believe I get to go first, so I will choose the top left corner, deploying my land raider and vindies on the road system. The Rhino's will be behind them. The Rhino with the Noise Marines will be placed on my objective, which will be located in the area terrain. My army will be as close as I can get to the "no mans land" line
I will use the road to go 18" towards my enemy in the land raider and pop smoke, and the Vindies will move up 12" and shoot at the Vindi's (if in range, which they should be) using the Raider as cover. The Princes will jump out and try to lash the Attack bikes closer to me, and then assault. The Princes will always be moving together, and targeting squads as a team. After the bikes are dead, they will target the Sniper Scouts, then Tac squads. The Terminators in the Raider will also be targeting the Squads outside of Transports starting with Tacticals, and moving to Sniper Scouts. The Drop Terminators will target his heavy support options (hopefully my Vindi's will have done work and killed both his Vindi's) Priority will be his Vindicator, then Predator second. The 2 Chaos Marine Squads will get close to his Razorbacks, and try to pop them with Melta's, then charge the squad inside. The Defiler, will move up and try and gain a cover save from the forest. He will baby sit the Noise Marines on the objective, and fire his Battle Cannon into squads, Transports or any targets of opportunity. I would like to say that my opponent will have very limited cover at his disposal and I should have no problem.

Vote closes on Friday the 6th of May at 1800 PM. Votes as usual must be in bold, and posted along with a reason. It doesn't have to be good mind you, just written down. Crap reasons will have no negative repercussions aside from your peers thinking you are an idiot.
If no tactics have been submitted, please assume average skill level for that player.
You'd like to say that, huh? Well, I disagree with the first part of the statement, there's a LOT more cover on this map than normal.I would like to say that my opponent will have very limited cover at his disposal and I should have no problem.
Hmm...with two lashes working as a team, I don't think the psychic hood can stop the tactic...so I'm saying that one set of bikes gets munched without getting a shot off. The other one nukes the land raider before it dies. I don't think the loyalist vindicators will be in range on turn one (um, he knows he's going second, why would he put them in range???) So no sale on that. I'm not going to keep going down the list, but just about everything in your writeup assumes that the enemy is going to be doing dumb shit at every turn and that your two princes will have time to run through his entire army single-handedly (they're killing two sets of bikes, two sets of scouts, and still have time to go after tactical squads? C'mon, man!) But you do have better tools to kill him than he has to kill you.

Points lost for thebut I'm still giving it to the Chaos.I would like to say that my opponent will have very limited cover at his disposal and I should have no problem.
No T&D implies "average skill". So there should be some issues of splitting fire, army not deployed at its best, still defensive but maybe not defensive enough to take on the Chaos attack. Fairly aggressive with flying Daemon Princes. Vindicators, Defiler and Terminators will be hurting, and in all the wrong places. I doubt that the marines will be able to hold their objective, and strongly doubt that they have enough aggression to take the chaos'.
If someone helps you, rep them.
In a votewar you don't vote on a single match, you vote on the entire round. Got that?
Looking at the list I think its fair to say that the loyalists will combat squad leaving the heavy stuff behind and going forward with melta and flamers.
So turn 1, chaos advances, 1 attack bike unit gets eaten as Marnepup says but not much else happens. The defiler tries a pot shot but theres all that cover to deal with. The vindicators wont be shooting, which is going to hurt.
Loyalists then open fire. I think the attack bikes might not kill the raider thanks to smoke, but I expect them to at least immobelise it. The vindicators will probably cause some damage to their counterparts and I think the marine player will recognise what a threat those princes pose. With 8 sniper rifles, 2 missles, 2 lascannons, 2 multimeltas and more heavy bolters than you can shake a stick at, i think one prince is toast and the other is wounded.
From this point I expect a skilled player could go on to achive victory. Chaos will kill a few units, but some questionable (IMHO) tactics would leave them vulnerable. If the knights had tactics this goes to them, theyve got the speed to claim/contest and the firepower to keep a hold of the objective (if played right.) Only problem is, they dont
Is it winable, yes. With average tactics... gotta say no. Sicons
Your friendly neighbourhood gargantuan creature
Lord, do I hate double Lash. Still, this is exactly the kind of mission where they buy you a cheesy victory. That, combined with decent tactics, scores Chaos the win.
"Any job worth doing, is worth doing with a powerklaw."
I agree that the chaos player is trying to get us to believe a number of things that simply aren't true. This map has some pretty good cover. I think if the loyalists made good use of cover giving them opportunities like first shots with vindicators on vehicles, managed to clear the lashes early, and zipped a force around the other side of the woods they'd have a decent chance of pulling off a win or at least a draw.
But that feels like me imagining ideal tactics after having read the chaos deployment and tactics as opposed to posting a second deployment without knowing what the first was. "Average" is going to have some problems, and lash combined with a number of good CC squads can really punish issues with deployment or tactics.

Chaos (or Choas if you prefer - slightly chaotic way of doing it i suppose)
Yep, You've got to be moving fast on a road to get the extra 6" move don't you?
anyway, Loyalists had a chance, but solid chaos tactics vs no tactics, pretty much did it for me.
Loyalists can jump in vehicles, infiltrate the scouts away from the DP's (or outflank) and the bikes, well they could have reserved for best effect (IMO) too, and it could have worked with some withering las/plas/fire allocation while buttoned up. It's not there though.
To use Lash of Submission you need line of sight. I consider it "average skill" to hide Attack bikes (particularly when you have 7 hulls in your army, its hard NOT to have the Attack bikes hidden).
This is a draw. If it wasn't capture and control there might be a game to call, but as it is: SMurfs de-mech chaos, chaos kills attack bikes (eventually), Terminators get Vindicator'd, both objectives are covered in marines in cover.
Few MEQ armies can beat a dual-lash build, especially in objectives-based game. Watch this, on the last turn, lash his scoring unit off of the objective and chaos wins. The key to beating chaos is to take out the lash princes, but with all the other threats there, it is not really obvious, especially with no tactics described.
Some people here are griping about cover. Are you kidding me?!? Vehicles won't get cover, especially from woodlands, unless they block TLOS. Don't know about you, but I've never really been able to get cover from area terrain at my local gaming stores (I'm talking about the GW forest with the 3 trees on them). As for infantry, come on. This is dual lash you're talking about here. Squads can be moved out of terrain.
While the librarian does help a little, this is mainly going to be an uphill battle for the marines. And that is only compounded by chaos going first.
Record: Win - Loss - Draw: Hive Fleet Pandora (New) 32-6-6 Space Wolf 7th Co. 52-11-6
Blood Angels 12-4-2 Daemonhunters 20-8-3
Imperial Guards 12-5-2 Daemons 8-3-2
- i think someone asked how big it was to the answer that it was as tall as a 1st floor or similar - There is a lot of cover in this one in my view, but that may not be the case, However It won't affect my vote too much if i'm wrong.
