Match 7.05 : Vindictive Crusade vs Sunfury Strike Force

Game Type: Seize Ground (5 objectives), Spearhead

Any unit that cannot regroup are now small enough to hide (i.e. immediately destroyed). Otherwise they cannot move off the table and so will hang around until they rally. Walls and pillars are solid, 12" high and nothing can park on them - but barrage can fire over everything.

Vindictive Crusade deploy in the top left corner and go first.

Hmm. Eldar, lots of skimmers, objective mission, going second with a huge amount of LoS blocking Terrain. However, the BT have firepower that is perfect for killing mass skimmers... Close game.

I'm edging this to the BT.

True words. But I'm edging towards the Eldar. That firepower is a lot less effective if it's a scrambled, and divided (5 objectives!), objective grab at the bottom of turn 5. That the Eldar are going last, pushed it over the line for me.
If someone helps you, rep them.
In a votewar you don't vote on a single match, you vote on the entire round. Got that?

Close game, but the BT have the firepower to take down all the skimmers, so I have to give them the advantage.

I've never seen it in a real game. But this is a map where you can deploy and hide an entire 2000 point army fairly easily. There also isn't any area terrain, building, or even a hill to take in the middle. Eldar have the option of holding back until they pounce on closing forces unless termies make a mishap prone and suicidal DS. This not only lets them make the first attacks, but it also reduces the number of effective turns in the game maximizing the efficacy of all that last turn grab business.

I'm thinking Eldar have a sure win that way on turn 5, a strong advantage on turn 6, and, hmmmm, depends how things go for turn 7, you shouldn't discount Yriel and the warlocks are canopeners in addition to flame throwers. But anywya since you're more likley to end on turn 5 or 6 than 7 I'll vote Eldar.

    Eldar

Going to agree, this experimental map, gives a double edge to the skimmers. Not only do they have the great maneuverability and speed that normally come with skimmers but those pillars make them amazing. You can ensure an alpha strike by the skimmers and after that you get the last turn on an objective based map. Win.

    Vindictive Crusade
The Vindictive Crusade will demount the Eldar, causing them to lose mobility, and the BT will kill the frail Eldar if they try to contest the objectives. It could be different if the Eldar had a plan.
