    40K VWMkV - Round #1 - Battle #3 - Alaitoc Eldar versus Imperial Guard

    Please see this thread on how to participate in these games. I want to stress to everyone that the mission means everything. He who stands the best way to score Victory Points should be the winner. All missions have the Infiltration, Deep Strike, and Victory Points special rules.

    The farseer baby sits the vypers increasing their already significant firepower. Vypers hide out of sight then get guided and skimmer out all guns blazing. The pathfinders infiltrate into cover and rangers set up a battle line using whatever covers available. Wraithlords ensure my battle line is not killed and stop assault armies like orks.

    I vote Alaitoc.

    All those disruption rolls will tear up the IG something nasty. Several pinning test every turn will keep the army down.

    Alaitoc has more scoring units than IG, this also lets them move units while keeping a decent hail of fire.

    Same reasons as Katalyst and they will start with a greater potential to completing the mission.

    Disruption + Lots of rilfes = unhappy Imperial Guardsmen.

    Yeah, the guard will be hard-pressed enough to nail all the Wraithlords anyway, even without all those Sniper Rifles shooting them, causing constant pinning tests.

    I can see this Alaitoc army going a long way...

    Alaitoc Eldar

    All guard armies need honourifica to set up a second command squad and this one just doesnt have it.

    9 starcannon shots guided- 6.25 hits-approx 5 wounds- giving guard a 4+ cover save, approx 2.5 dead guardsmen all on insta-kill. 3 shuriken cannons do exactly the same... equals everyone dead except HSO. If a ranger squad kills a guardsmen beforehand then vypers shoot the command squad thats on average the whole guard morale and command destroyed. Not to mention the vypers only need to get slightly lucky... gotta love instant kill.

    One the command squads down the rest of the army will be so horribly pinned for the rest of the game.

    Also if the command squad starts off in reserve and doesnt arrive till late... the eldar can have a whole lot of fun.

    lets assume that the player are even in player skills and tactics then the IG would deploy his HG WAY BACK IN COWER and just use it for morale scores that should keep him alive (since you can need to make a LD roll to shoot anything but the nearest squads).
    this IG army got a lot of fire power, if the vyper try to get close they die fast ( 6 lascannons + plasma guns they wont make it far), same as the wraith lords unless they come at the same time, but then if the IG player is smart he take out the vypers first (fast movers)

    sure all of those rangers and pathfinders are a pain in the butt, but this is a small eldar army, the rough riders Will ride around chopping eldar heads of but they will die pretty quick i Ques but so what nots like he is going to need them in this battle.

    IG player got 2 bassie that will just keep on shooting the rangers and **** to pieces.

    IG got a lot of heavy bolters to do many shoots.

    i dont know the range or armor of the eldars but i dont think that will make that much difference against such a large army.

    IG got the numbers for sure and i think that would be the downfall of the eldars
    but this mision type they would lose

    i vote ELDAR for this win

    The Rangers will be infiltrating into cover and with +1 to thier cover saves (+2 if Pathfinders) the Basalisks will be less of an issue, when they hit.

    All 30+ Eldar have Sniper rifles, and disruption.

    I agree with Wings. He wants the army to win...

    Alatoic Eldar

    IG have pretty bad armour saves and they will be pinned like no tommorrow. Oh and the Eldar list has 3 Wraithlords. Now, if they IG had more flamers they might win because Wraithlords melt as they are made of cheese ( ) they could stand a chance but there's no feasible way for them to win against all that.

    Eldar weapon range doesn't matter because they have infiltrate. Oh, and they're all range 36" anyway.

    Plus, it's secure and control, the IG don't have too much maneuverability. It will be impossible for them to kill the wraithlords at the counters.
