Please see the Combat Patrol Mini Info Thread on how to participate in these games. I want to stress to everyone that the mission means everything. He who stands the best way to score Victory Points should be the winner. All missions have the Infiltration and Victory Points special rules. All missions are played with the Combat Patrol rules set.
Eldar cheese patrol
6x black guardian defenders
6x shuriken catapults, 1x starcannon platform
On the remote planet of Swiss III’s the craftworld eldar have built there greatest super weapon yet. They have constructed a factory for creating pure undiluted cheese. The cheese patrol was set up in the early stages of production to defend the planet against the Imperial cheese that has arrived in the form of assault cannons. Now the cheese patrol takes the war to them. The Mighty Starcannon vs the GW Assault Cannon.
Bugs 'n' Raiders
1x Venomcannon & Devourer, 3x Deathspitters & Devourer, Extended carapace, enhanced senses, toxin sacs
4x scything talons & Rending claws, leaping, toxin sacs, adrenal glands WS & Init, extended carapace, symbiote rippers
Eldar has 9 Starcannons. That's 27 shots. Ouch. With their good strength and AP, that will kill quite a bit.
Tyranids can use cover as they move up the field, but once they're out in the open, Eldar will take advantage, and blast away.
I'm gonna vote Eldar because those gaunts are goind to do squat with the spine fists and will be mowed down as soon as the pop out of cover. The warriors will be the first to die and it shouldn't be a problem with all of those starcannons.
Xbox Gamertag: x Helbrecht x
There is so many shots on the eldar side that there is no way the Tyranids can survive.
Starcannons will chew through warriors.
Starcannons will chew through Gaunts. (I can't remember spinefists off hand so I can't say.)
Easy win for the Eldar.
These are old codex eldar right?
Anyway I unfortunately see the Eldar winning this one
All the gaunts will be good for is standing infront of the warriors to force target priority, and unfortunately vehicles(ie: Warwalkers) auto pass those tests, then maybe swarming guardsmen if they reach them.
The shooting warroirs can easily take out a walker a turn, but then they expose themselves to the remaining 7 starcannons
The assaulty warriors will also likely kill whatever they hit but then be left vulnerable to ample return fire.
If the table was terrain heavy and the Tyranid player was sneaky he could pull this one off but given the assumption of similar generals behind these armies I don't see them winning this one.
Fluff goes to Tyranids. An excellent list for playing cheese free combat patrols. You're braver than I, using gaunts in combat patrol, I tend to go the old rippers'n'lictors route myself (my store allows rippers in combat patrol).
And to the Eldar General, know that I have sent a team of ninjas to infiltrate your camp and replace the spirit stones in you armour with shiny glass beads, so that when this list eventually loses your soul will be consumed by Slaanesh and you will be doomed to an eternity of torment at the hands of the Dark Prince of Chaos......
The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. Bring them understanding of the power of ourselves through our strength and their fear. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all fragments will be smashed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be consumed
Any army with the title "cheese" should be automatically declined for this..
Exactly the sort of army I was hoping not to see in this Votewar, and exactly the type that will sweep clean through any opponent until it meets one like it.
As said, the Starcannons will mow down everything that they can. Will be terribly difficult to down anything with so much firepower on the table.
Eldar, unfortunately, gets my vote as well. Much as I hate to do it.
I swear to everyone (including Forged) that is not my list.
However it is 400 points. 398 by my count.
Each war walker is only 100 points. The guardians are 98.
My vote goes to eldar as the nids don't have the return fire. They will all be dead by turn 2 and just can't dish out the damage to bring down war walkers.
Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!
If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
I'm gonna keep my vote as it is. And the Eldar list is not mine, BTW.
