    DE and IW

All those thousands of points on the table and the only power weapon (not counting the Oblits) belongs to a guardsman. This would probably be a lot of fun to watch, but with all those Obliterators and Dark Lances, none of those vehicles are going to be left after 3rd turn.

    De/iw

Those vehicles are simply going to be obliterated. The DE/IW ought to have a field day with this.

    tau/ig

I know I'll be in the minority on this one, but first turn goes a long way with this game. All those pie plates and inferno flame templates would wreak havoc on the delicate Dark Eldar Warriors. Add a dash of FoF and it could be all up to the Oblits to take out the tau/ig force on their own.

Its a lot easier to hide a Hammerhead than it is to hide 60+ infantry. The Havocs could protect the Dark Eldar from the Fire Warriors, but there is also little they could do to the Devilfish.

Those Dark Lances only have a 36" range. That means that they are going to need to be pretty far in to be able to have the reach needed to be a danger to the Hammerheads. That means the Hellhounds could have range on turn one which would be bad news for the DE. Making morale tests at leadership 7 isn't easy. I can see DE being gone by turn two.

I think that whoever gets first turn should win.

    Tau/IG

This match could go either way, but im placing my money down on the Tau/IG player. sure the Dark eldar has lots of Dark lances, and Obliterators have whatever gun they want, but you have to account for things like cover that will negate much of there firepower. and with all those Hellhounds, they will be utturly destroying those Sv 5+ Warriors. and even if they were to concentrate fire upon the Hellhounds, the Firewarriors will Fish of Fury the Warriors to death.

even if the DE/IW where to get first turn, they would have nothing to shoot at, since everything would be behind cover.

    De/iw

There is a simple way to deal with the hellhounds vs the DE warriors. Place them only 6 inches on the table. Then on turn 1 they are all out of range of the hellhounds, and turn 2 there shouldn't be any hellhounds left. The havocs and the oblits can be up a bit to take the fire from them without much pain. Also I'm really not sure how much terain there has to be to hide 3 large skimmers from 9 different squads that can bring them down, all while still moving fast.

    Guard/Tau

I thought this would be a cake walk for the dark elder and chaos but after hearing about the range for the dark lances im not so sure. Of course this is a very bad army for the guard/tau to fight but they are also well armed to kill weak 5+ save troops with the many hellhounds which will be very hard to destroy with smoke. Sure they will die but they will take a lot of fire off the devilfish. If the tau/guard get first turn the hammerheads can fire off shots at the elder and have no risk of any return fire. Why dont the guard/tau just hang back any units that can't find cover and just fire away with the hammerheads until the dark elder are forced to move thereby putting themselfs within range and losing a tuen of shooting.

i cant decide yet, but im leaning tau/ig. with only a fraction of those shots destroying ultimately destroying something from the other armies weapons, meaning hitting, pening, and not shaking or stunning, there is alot of potential for a smart commander to get most of his tanks in firing range. the railguns should target the oblitz, and the rest can focus on taking everythign else out, or the oblits can be at first ignored to use the large blast thing on the hammerheads, everything else will be gone very quickly. and i guess a plus side is that the lance rule will only slightly effect the hammerheads, and thats it.

You have to kill 9 warriors before getting at the dark lance, and DE have pretty good leadership so its always unreliable to depend on your enemy running away.

Blasts are great for just punching huge holes in the enemy, when you want to get through all of them though to reach the heavy weapons they are horrible. It would take a whole turn of shooting just to remove 2-4 lances and then 9 lascannons coming back would simply snap anything thats a threat. It only has to shake them and then it all happens again next time.
