The list I ran when I first switched to mech - 58 points

    Canoness with bolter, krak grenades
4x 10 Sisters, flamer, heavy flamer, Vet with combi-flamer & book, rhino with extra armour
4x 4 Celestians, 2 meltas, immolator with extra armour
    3x Exorcist tank
    ~1850
(it was a few years back so the list is probably a little off, but close enough)

Assault 0, Shooting 24, Missions 18, Misc 16. Could probably claim another 4 points for 'special rule that significantly helps them stay alive' with faith.

    Well...

My themed Thosand Son army (1000pts) scored 44:

    Hq
    Ahriman

    Troops
8 Thousand Sons, Sorcerer with Bolt of Change
8 Thousand Sons, Sorcerer with Doombolt, Rhino with Daemonic possession and combi-melta

    Heavy Support
Chaos Vindicator with Possession, twin-linked bolter and dirge caster

    993pts

I scored 12 for shooting, 6 for assault, 22 for missions and 4 for misc. Like A.T. I could probably claim an additional 4 for having immune to shaken/stunned or a 4++ invulnerable save on every unit.

got over 100 points with my Chaos Space marine army list of 1000p, the reason is because those obliterators have many different weapons, and a power weapon, so by having 2 you already get from every weapon thingy and that power weapon thing points. I don't think that's fair And as those chaos space marines AND are capable of launching an assault AND shoot some crap, they get much points too.

It's alright to have the same unit score in multiple sections, but there's a maximum number of points you can get for each section, so it shouldn't be possible to score more than 100. If you'd like to post your list, I can let you know what it's score is.

It's an interesting checklist, though it really seems to not take some of the more exotic things into account - I scored 76/100 for not being able to kill a landraider reliably (didn't want to count daemon hammers) and for not having big, longrange guns in an all assault, all deep strike list
The Silver Knights of Tor Adrac (He): 26/2/4
The Spears of Slaanesh (Woc): 7/2/5
    Battlegroup Chalybso (GK): 7/3/3

Daemon hammers definitely count! With hammerhand, that's S10 on the charge! That'll ruin a land raider's day, especially if it didn't move.

No big, longrange guns in a Grey Knights list? What about Psycannons? They have 36in range when fired as a heavy weapon. They certainly count. Also, I'd count them as strength 8+ because they have rending. I'll add that to the main test, just to be clear.

With the hammers, you'll have a score of at least an 80, which means the list is good.

    In any case, good luck!

I was surprised, my GK list scored a 96-100 out of 100 (depending on Draigo's roll to make units Scoring). That's pretty crazy. I may have tallied some things wrong though, for example, when asked if any unit cost more than 25%, I didn't count the fact that my Dreads may be riding in on my Ravens, along with my combat squads of Purifiers, one of which has Draigo.

Here's the list, all the same.

    Draigo

5 Paladins w/ 2 Psycannons (1 MC), 3 halberds, Daemon Hammer, Psybolt Ammo
    @ 340

5 Paladins w/ 2 Psycannons (1 MC), 3 halberds, Daemon Hammer, Psybolt Ammo
    @ 340

    10 Purifiers w/ 4 Psycannons, 6 Halberds, 2 Daemon Hammers, Psybolt Ammo
    @ 322 - Combat-Squaded

Storm Raven w/ MultiMelta, TPort Homer, Psybolt Ammo
    @ 240
Storm Raven w/ MultiMelta, TPort Homer, Psybolt Ammo

Dreadnought w/ MultiMelta, Autocannon, Psybolt Ammo

Very cool scoring system, though I wonder how it works with an army with lots of special rules and designed to be "different" than others like the new Necrons? They're a shooty army, but most of their weapons are 24" now and not too many are S8 or higher (Annihilation Barges which is a favorite has only S7, but with 4 shots, Tesla, and Arc).

Anyway, I have a list that scored about 74 in a 1250 list. I know it's not optimal, but I'm just trying out units to see what my final list would be. So for such a forced "artificial" list, 74 is not bad.

    Necrons 1250

    HQ:
Overlord with Sempiternal Weave and Warscythe on a Command Barge - 195

    Troops:
    6 Immortals with Tesla Carbine - 102
9 Warriors with Ghost Ark and Harbinger of Transmorgrification - 262

    Elite:
    Triarch Stalker - 150

    Fast:
    6x Scarabs - 90
    5x Wraiths (3 coils, 1 particle caster, 1 nothing) - 210

    Heavy:
2 x Annihilation Barge with Gauss Cannon and Tesla Destructor - 180

Normally I think I would always have one of these choices:
    - counter attack unit: Lychguard or Wraiths
    - bumper/vehicle annoyance unit: Scarabs
    - Solar Pulse
    - Armor killing unit: Command Barge/Warscythe, Heat Ray, Heavy Gauss Cannon, Death Ray, Doomsday Cannon or many Eldritch Lances
    - 2-3 Scoring units in <1500 games, usually with 1 transport (Ghost Ark)
    - Lord with Res Orb (in higher point games, to go with my immortals or warriors

That should cover most of the things I have to worry about with a well balanced army for Necrons.
