If your whole army can deep strike do you have to deploy any models at the beginning of the battle?

There are only a few specific Missions in the BGB which require an army to deploy at least one unit. Otherwise your entire army could indeed start in Reserve.

carefull though, it's often not as good of an idea as it sounds like:
without the pressure of an enemy presence, your opponent can spread across the bord, limiting where you can deepstrike into, and pick you off one or two units at a time as you roll for reserves.
