I have seen a few threads about twin linked weapons, it must be one of the most confusing rules. How I have played it is to re-roll any missed hits (I have been rolling one dice per weapon regardless of shots fired). Now I have just read a thread where an eldar player was using walkers with two scatter lasers (so they are twin linked?) but he also used guide. I haven't got my codex because I am in work but I believe guide is in essence the same as having twin linked weapons, re roll missed hits.
As you can't re-roll a re-roll isn't this a waste of guide? Or am I misunderstood somewhere?
As far as I am aware, taking two of the same weapons on a War Walker does not make them twin-linked. Guide allows you to re-roll missed To-Hit rolls, so anything that missed from both these weapons would be able to be re-rolled through Guide.
Makes them kind of nasty!
"Tau Commandment #226: Participants who use Velocity Trackers in the Tau Clay Pigeon Tournament will be disqualified"
weapons on war walkers are always treated as independent of each other rather than twin linked which is why he was able to re roll failed misses with guide.
IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT!

You are thinking of our wraithlord-If it has two of the sme weapons added to it, then they become twin linked.
As pointed out, this is not the case with war walkers.
And as per the BGB, you may never reroll a reroll.
That said, since the WW would get 8 shots, and with guide on it, you would reroll all missed shots. So if you missed with all 8, you could reroll all 8 again.
If you guided a wraithlord that had 2 shuricannons, it would only be able to reoll it's misses once, even though they are twin linked and guided.
And yes, just to clarify, twinlinked allows you to reoll ALL failed misses, regardless of ROF. So a baal preds TL'd assault cannon would get to reroll up to all 4 of its shots if they missed.
16,000+ of Eldar (only need flyers)
7,000+ of Nids (want heirophant)
6,000+ of Space Marines (need rever titan)
4,400+ of Cygnar (all models for the faction)
1,500+ of Legion (just started)
Thanks, only had a couple of games so far I had the misunderstanding that taking both of the same weapon automatically made it twin-linked in a way I wish I had never asked as I was having quite a bit of success with my twin linked bright lance against a devastator squad. Nevermind.
There isn't any possible benefits to being twin-linked instead of having 2 weapons...You get more shots and you're less susceptible to weapon destroyed. I guess its just a luck thing for you.
