I'm going to try and paraphrase the section I have the problem with best I can (Pg. 29 "Weapon Types").
Question: I want to know whether or not a model with a rapid fire weapon can shoot their maximum if they moved in the movement phase
Ex.= Would a fire warrior squad be able to move 6" and then shoot 30", or is it halved or changed in some way?
Rules don't seem to directly adress this circumstance so, if anyone can give me a link to an FAQ, a source from the rule book, or any help it would be much appreciated.
The quick answer is no. Pg29 as you said, it states may only fire at maximum range if they havent moved.
You will need your rule book handy to help me with this, but is the line that states this rule (RF move & shoot)
"If an infantry model has not moved..."
This seems to be the sentence, I just wished GW could be alittle more clear.
Yep thats the one. It doesnt really need any clarification, as the rule states you can only fire at max range if you havent moved then there is no rule required to say that you cannot fire at max rage if you have moved, it is already implied.
And what if I had a plasmagun on my SM bike. Can he shoot and assault like when he shoots with his TL bolter???
Im not sure what class te Plasma gun is off the top of my head, but if its rapid fire (or heavy) then no. Pistol or assault yes i think. Although TL bolter is rapid fire, you sure he can shoot and assault with them actually? Im not positive on that one, need Rork...
may shoot up to full range once when not moved in the movement phase
may shoot twice at 12 inch, (not half distance)
plasma gun from the space marine bikeers is handcarried and suffers from the same limitations as the other rapid fire weapons, they are not mounted. do note iirc the chaos space marines can take mounted plasma guns on their bikes, so they can still fire up to full range even if moved.
the bolters are mounted so they benefit from the bike rules.
Hand-held RF weapons cannot fire to max range if the biker moved. Line four in the Shooting paragraph on P.53 says "If RF weapons are mounted on a bike, then they are allowed...etc". Implication therefore is that if the RF weapons are *not* mounted on the bike then they are *not* allowed to fire to max range if the biker moved.
