    Necron Destroyer Lord toughness?

In the Necron rules, the destroyer body gives the Lord a +1 toughness. The rule says that the Lord cannot therefore be instakilled by strength 10 weapons. In the Core rule book bikers generally have a +1 toughness, but the bonus is not considered when figuring instakill (the same is true for Plague Marines). The Destroyer is actually a jetbike, which says nothing about the extra toughness. I assume the Lord's toughness is considered unmodified because of the specific language in the codex. Any thoughts?

The only thing I've had to go on with this is that Destroyers are listed as having T5, instead of T4(5), like other bike riding models. As far as how the BGB words "Extra Protection" under bikes, I figure that since a Destroyer's(or Destroyer Lord's) body IS the jetbike, the actual stat could very well be changed, as opposed to just a bonus.

Also, Army Builder does not place a base Toughness in parentheses on Necrons with Destroyer bodies. But don't take that as gold, because it wouldn't be the first time that software was just a tad bit off...

the destroyer lord is a special case.

it is not like bikes and jet bikes in that respect and gets the additional toughness permanently, not just for working out wounding rolls

I just had a quick read through the rules for the Destroyer Body and it says that the Lord "moves as if mounted on a jetbike and gets +1 Toughness." It doesn't qualify this statement with something like "..for being on a jetbike". It just says he "gets +1T". When the rule continues on to say that he cannot therefore be Instant-Killed by Str 10, I understand this to mean that his Toughness stats are altered by plus one point, making him an actual T6.

Yes, A Destroyer Lord is T6. Not T6(5) like other mounted models.

Aww, crap. Please ignore my above statement. I bypassed the first step: Check The Rule First.
