Here is the issue we ran into last night at a game.
There was a squad of 5 guys being shot at by to two Marines with the plasma weapon that uses a blast template. Both the Marines are in the same squad. The Marines rolled to hit and both did. He checked with the template and could only get two guys under it each template. He rolls the wounds and it does 3 wounds. The problem we ran into was that the squad being shot at is allowed to move the templates as long as they are covering the same amount of guys so he moved them both over the same two guys. Now that it did three wounds and the guys only have two does a third guy also take a wound even though he wasn't under the template? The other question is are the weapons supposed to be done one at a time since even though they are from that same squad so the first one would kill two people and then the second template has to be placed on two different people and it would kill one of them?
You roll to hit, fit as many models under the template as possible (the owning player may move the blast marker now), multiply this by the number of hits, and that's the number of wound rolls you make. All models within range and LoS can take wounds, not just those under the template.

In this case the owner of the unit is no longer forced to remove the casualties from below the marker first, so the part about moving the marker can bascially be skipped, as th actual position of the marker has no effect in the game.
