Ok recently while setting up for a game of 40k another SoB player came up and was talking to me. He has been playing for many years and has participated in a few Apoc battles. At one point in our conversation he pulled out his exorcist (with the normal organ pipe launchers) and proceeded to add the whirlwinds missile pods infront of the organ launchers. he then starts to say how he gets way more than just a D6 roll of shots and how he has used this to great advantage in battles.
Now another friend has the Apoc book and ive talked with him about this conversion. he says he doesnt know anything about it so im assuming its not in the Apoc rule book.
my question is this: what is the conversion the first friend was talking about and where can i find out more about it, as in if its in a rulebook, which one? i just want to see how powerful i can make my exorcist.
oh and any suggestions on how to extend the life of my exorcists, they die first enemy turn cause they are hated so much.
Don't know much about the exorcist ultra - never heard of it.
But if you want your exorcist to survive the first turn buy it a dozer blade and deploy it behind cover and only come out (move through the cover) when you will have a clear shot and a decent target. That way it will survive to turn 2, although probably not much past that because I know that I hate them and hit them with everything to either destroy them completly or stop them shooting (up to 6 S8 AP1! C'mon!)
lol no the exorcist ultra was just the name i gave it. i dont know what its really called.
ya everyone hates my exorcist and my saint. they keep calling the tank the cheese tank and my saint a "The Bitch"
Hahaha, me too. "Commander Bitch" has been cursed at in many of my battles. I have now lovingly accepted it as her new nickname and call her by it myself.
I have never heard of any official exorcist that gets 2d6 shots. He may have VDRed it, after all it is apocalypse.
Yeah, I've never heard of such a contraption. Maybe he was yanking your chain, or like suggested he VDR'd it. I'd ask him for clarification next time you run into him.

ok what is VDR?
Vehicle Design Rules. A while back GW released a semi-official rule set for designing your own vehicles and how many point they would then cost.
Somehow I really doubt the VDR point value or whatever he's using properly accounts for the power of changing from a 1-6 flat distribution to a 2-12 weighted distribution around 7. Reliably putting out 4-8 S8 missiles on the move is just ridiculus. I'd guess the point value more accurately represents a vehicle that shoots 1d12 missiles.
Either way, it's a made-up unit and a pt value taken out of the VDR doesn't make it any more legal for play than something totally homegrown.
well like Djones said ill have to ask for more details on what he was talking about next time i see him but im not playing for a few weeks so it may take awhile.
Suffer not the heretic. That's right, I'm looking at you Astartes Librarians.
yeah, such a thing doesn't exist. and is he also saying that it has indirect fire? cause i notived you mentioned whirlwinds, if so that is really wrong!
