    ID Char question

i'm reading the rulebook on special characters, and i'm not seeing anywhere weither it states that 2 characters can or can not join the same unit. If i wanted too could i have lets say, grotsnik and a warboss in the same unit of nobs. Or even a chaplain and a commander(you get the idea)

just curious, i've enver seen or thought about this before

You can have as many IC's joined to a unit as you wish, so long as you are not joining an IC to an IC.

So no commander to a chappy, but you could have 4 commanders (if it were possible for them all to be seperate) joined to a scout squad.

Similarly, you could have 2 farseers joined to a wraithlord, just not to each other.

This is in the bgb, under characters, and ICs joining units.
    My armies:
16,000+ of Eldar (only need flyers)
    7,000+ of Nids (want heirophant)
6,000+ of Space Marines (need rever titan)
4,400+ of Cygnar (all models for the faction)
    1,500+ of Legion (just started)

If all the members of the squad the ICs were joining died, would the ICs be forced to seperate afterwards? Or do the rules only state that they cannot JOIN with other characters, not that they can't exist in a unit with other characters? Don't have my rulebook in front of me, just curious.

This one has been argued to death.

1 side says that as soon as the unit is dead, the IC splits.

the other contends that the rules say you may only leave a unit during the movement phase, as per the rules.

I'll leave it at that, but the thread should be pretty easy to find.

    Nik,
It’s more that the squad provides the “glue” for attachment or attraction of IC’s, that’s the reason you can’t attach 2 characters to form a “Character Squad.”

I agree with Tarzen that the debate of exactly when the IC’s revert to independent status has been done to death publicly and its probably best to PM for a personal view on the matter.

    Cheers.
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.

Oh right, I'll look for that thread to see the people's reasoning. :3 Didn't even know that it had been brought up before.
