question on ordanance weapons when shooting at tanks. If the template if placed on the centre of the tank, scatter dice will almost always hit since the 5" template requires a roll of a 6 to move the template completely clear of a large(ish) tank. Does the incoming shell hit the edge of the tank? And does this differ with estimation weapons that are lobbed shells?
Would appreciate a few thoughts on the matter
If it's on the top of the tank, it counts as the front armor. Otherwise, it'll probably hit a side.
About it not being likely to miss it? Sucks don't it?

Wait, you mean that optimism isn't fashionable anymore?!

Soup's up, bitches!
tell me about it, my hammerheads have a life expectancy of about two turns now, the first they get a glancing hit and are stunned, then blown to smithereens. Dunno, 170pts for distracting a battle cannon for two turns ain't my idea of points efficiency
Direct-fire Ordnance will hit the facing that's towards the unit that's doing the shooting.
Example: Your tanks are facing each other squarely. The only AV Your opponent can hit is the front AV, even if the blast scatters to the side or even the rear.
Essentially LOS and facing hit are counted as if it was a normal weapon. Thus You can get Hull Down against direct-fire Ordnance.
Barrage (Guess) Ordnance will hit the facing closest to the hole in the template. Terrain (and Hull Down) are counted only if there's any between the hole and Your vehicle.
But fear not, if the TVR is anything to go by, Ordnance shots against vehicles will be getting weaker in 4th Edition. Namely, it will only get it's full Strength if the hole itself is on Your vehicle.
