In the Codex Daemons, on Ku'gath's page (p. 48), there's the Nurgling Infestation rule for him. It states that the unit he summons appears via Deep Strike within 12" of him. My question is:
Does that means I have to place the Nurgling's base anywhere 12" from Ku'Gath, and roll the scatter dice from there? (even if it could theorically put it 24" away from him).
Or I roll the scatter dice as if the Deep Striking Nurgling's base was on Ku'gath, and scatter from there? (HIT would place it at base contact or something, and an arrow would make it fly away up to 12" from him, thus making the Nurgling Deep Strike "within 12" of him", as stated?)
I don't have the Codex Daemons, but from the sound of it I'd say you can place the base anywhere 12" from Ku'gath and then scatter from there (as far as the dices want). (With 4e rules, Deep striking on top of other unit should result in the DS unit being destroyed unless it's a monolith or a drop pod).
Yeah, you'd select a point within 12" of Ku'gath's base to place the Nurglings, and then scatter from there. It's similar terminology to the Chaos Icon, and clearly you wouldn't be picking a point on top of the Icon-holder, since anything Deep Striking would immediately be destroyed (since there would be no scatter) =). Consequently, the Nurglings could scatter outside of the 12" range.

That seems reasonnable indeed :) Thanks everyone!
interesting that because there is a chaos icon he immediatly becomes a really good shot. He can hit anyhting with pin point accuracy, but only if there is an icon!
