I believe at the end of your fall back move you have to be between two enemy units, and can draw a direct line for the crossfire rule to apply.

--- If the Rhino was within the fallback corridor itself, then yes, it can cause crossfire.

If it wasn't in the corridor, it doesn't matter even if You did pass within 1" of it, thus Your FC and co would have survived.

This is of course only really valid under the 3rd Edition rules, since in the Trial Assault Rules Crossfire has changed into Trapping which is somewhat more difficult to pull off.

under 3rd edition rules...
1. his rhino had to be within your fallback corridor
2. you have to fall back PAST his rhino... if you don't pass it you survive
3. because it is a vehicle it has to have shot during his last shooting phase
if all of those are not met then you should live... if not... sorry

--- No such rule. Whether the Rhino fired previously or not is not an issue.

And just to point out, ruleswise it makes no difference whether or not the Rhino is actually capable of shooting. It might be utterly incapable of shooting due a "Weapon Destroyed" result, but it will still cause crossfire if the opponents fallback corridor goes through it and the unit flees far enough to come into contact or go past the Rhino.

Does not make sense? Imagine it this way: Your guys have just sustained horrendous casualties, and decided to execute a tactical withdrawal. They turn and run, only to see a large vehicle blocking their escape route. Due to this unforeseen circumstance they get confused and are cut down by the opponent behind them.
