Hey folks

Back when the old Cult of Speed (Codex: Armageddon) was legal I dutifully converted a unit of Ork Outriders by clipping the ‘eavy shooters off a unit of 10 warbikes. The back portion of the bikes then had all manor of gubbins glued in place to make them look more Orky (and also to cover the scars caused by the amputation of the shootas).

So now that Codex: Armageddon is illegal I have a totally useless unit of boyz and no real way to ‘un-convert’ them (too much poly cement!).

Any-hoo, since I don’t play in tournies, just me and my mates I thought I’d come up with some house rules for the Outriders to fit in with 5th Ed.

Outriders (4th Ed)
  • 5 points cheaper then regular bikes
  • No twin-linked ‘eavy shootas
  • Scouts special rule

Outriders (5th Ed)
  • 5 points cheaper then regular bikes
  • No twin-linked dakka guns
  • Scouts special rule

Seems like a straight swap, right?

The only problem is that Scouts is now an awesome rule in 5th (allowing you to flank the enemy) and coupling that with Furious Charge and WAAAGH! I don’t know if the points decrease is correct or not as they may be overpowered.

Yes they can’t shoot, but they can but in combat in the first turn of the game!
