I'm not quite sure which forum this should be placed in, but seeing how I'm asking about the effect it will have on gameplay, I'm pretty sure it doesn't belong in the Modeling or Scenery forums.
If I was to build a Drop Pod, and then base it in, say, a crater (Not too big a crater, just something for looks), would it be legal to use in a Tournament setting?
It just that I don't like having a fully based army, and then there's the Drop Pod. It just doesn't seem consistent, y'know?
Do you base all your vehicles?
To be honest it wouldn't make any difference. As long as you're measuring your distances from the hatchways then everything should be fine.
(This answer assumes you're not going to try anything shady like saying that the pod or passengers are in cover due to the crater.)
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
Bear in mind that you can't take 'cover' with you and as long as it doesnt interfer with true line of sight and deployment you should be sweet.
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
Cheers guys. The Crater is going to be as "flat" as possible, so hopefully it won't interfere with True LOS, and I wouldn't dream of taking cover with me, lol.
I am wondering though, do you base your vehicles as well?
I could see the drop pod with the impact crater looking very cool, post pics when your finished.
Most Notable Achievements:
Killed a Revenant Titan in one shot.
Killed 900 pts worth of Blood Angels in 2 turns while only loosing 4 pts.
The thing is, I have yet to fully construct any vehicles, so I can't answer that question yet, lol. I tend to make troop-heavy, all infantry lists, with a few Dreadnoughts thrown in for kicks.
I'll get to making the Pod right away, after I buy it of course, and I'll post picks in a WIP thread in the painting forums.
