LOL! No kidding, I hadn't checked this since I posted it a few days ago. And wow. Lots of info. As to taking 6 wounds x2, that's how my buddy played it so I took the 12 wounds. Then realized how rediculously stupid that is really. Regardless of rules, I think that's a pretty broken mechanic. Let's just hope the Necron codex update corrects this kind of stuff.

As to a reason, let's get rid of two different units and make them the same. If I have 2 units of 5 scarabs OR 1 unit of 10 scarabs...regardless of different units, the wounds result SHOULD be identical! Period! 2 squads in this case would cause double wounds, and 1 squad would not. Honestly, how is that not a broken mecahnic for the identical number of troops/units. So to this, maybe the wording appears to cause double wounds...I don't think this is how they meant it to play out. However, maybe they are sadistic in some weird way...Oh well, more shooting in my armies!
