If a Farseer is on a jetbike his toughness is increased to 4. Does this mean Perils of the Warp cannot kill him outright?
The +1 T due to jetbike does not count when calculating Instant Kill. Therefore he still dies.
Page 27 of 4th/5th Ed.Some models can gain improvements to theirUse the lowest value for working out instant death.
Toughness by using wargear items like bikes, Chaos
Marks, etc. When it comes to instant death, such
bonuses do not count (ie, riding a bike won’t save you
from being obliterated by a lascannon blast!). In these
cases two values will be shown for the Toughness
characteristic of the model, one of which is in brackets.
Except perils of the warp has no strength value any more, and can't inflict Instant Death on anyone.
to Clarify the +1 T doesn't affect instant death so Str 6 still insta kills your farseer. but Perils doesn't have a str so it doesn't insta kill the farseer, bout time too!
I'm pawning this to everyone Check out My 'Nids Tactica and give your Oppinion. I'm Desperate for Attention.
I always found that so very strange.
"I am a Farseer! I have mastered the powers of the Warp! Oh noes, something has gone wrong and what would only slightly hurt any other lesser race Psyker has completely destroyed me! BLARGH!"
Not quite 100% accurate but you get the idea. Even with the Ghosthelm to protect them, I was always very nervous about using Psychic powers with my Farseers during the very few 4th Edition games I played. Nothing more shameful than a master of Warp Energy dieing in a single mess up on the dice.
