    New Player Initiative Question.

Have not actually played a battle with 40k yet so please help a newbie out . Had a question on when they get into close combat. Say the Space Marines charge the orks who have a higher Initiative value than the SM. So the orks would strike first then the SM. Right? If the Orks charged the SM the Orks would strike then the SM. Then the following SM turn would the Orks strike first, or the SM? So basically does the Higher Initiative only count for the first charge or every turn after?

    Turn 1 Ork
    Ork charges SM
    O strikes first then SM
    Turn 1 SM
SM strikes first or does Ork?

    Thanks all for your help.

You use initiative to determine who goes first in every round of combat, not just the first.

Also, generally the Space Marines have higher initiative than Orks.
