Title says it all. I'm currently attempting a project to cast Tau Stealthsuits out of clear resin (lets face it, that would just be cool), and I'd like to know if they will be legal for use in tournaments. I've looked, but can find no references to this anywhere.
I fight for the Greater Good. Too bad for you it's MY Greater Good.
Snow Forces of T'olku W/L/D : 3-4-2... I like to think I'm learning, though.
That would depend on your store. Some are really strict on using the GW models but the guys in my area are pretty cool about using custom models and all that jazz, as long as it's the same size.

Meet My Autarch
As long as the base is the same size as the GW models, I would be fine with it.
for tournaments you need a "copy" of the actual model, example is that you have a squad of three 'custom' stealth suits, on the side you have exact duplicates of the actual models (painted if required). so that if requested you will be able to replace said models with the clones.
aside from that remember if someone asks you to do that its not always for teh reasons you think, some people have a hard time looking at clear models and can't judge distance etc accurately or as easily as if it were the normal models. in addition being able to accurately Identify the models and any equipment they have.
Dear Game Designer,
Rock is Cheese. Paper is fine.
i remember hearing about someone doing exactly this at a tournament, and the other players (and judges, etc) didn't allow it, even though he had the gw ones with him.
There are many clear resin stealth suits out there. All of them will result in your being politely (the first time) asked to pack them up and not bring them back at any GW store or GW run event.
