Is a dedicated transport to be considered it's own unit in annihilation scenarios or is a part of squad that it trasport?
It is its own unit, and yes does indeed yield a kill point. The simple way to think of it is, if it can contest an objective, it's also a kill point. That's the basic 'balance' of the missions. The more options you have for challenging objectives, the more kill points you yield. Of course some things, 180 Orks comes to mind.. , break the system nicely.
so, as a silly follow on, transports can claim objectives, provided their dedicated Troops transports?
No, dedicated transports cannot claim objectives because vehicles can NEVER claim objectives.
not claim, contest.
Obviously though if you have your troops squad inside they can remain safe in the transport and still be claiming an objective.
That is indeed correct.
