I heard of these from someone, then found them other post on other websites. Are these rules in Eye of Terror Codex or what.
Wow, you must have been reading some old old rules, cause pirates and mercenaries were all in FIRST edition Warhammer 40k, which is commonly referred to as Rogue Trader.
I don't think I've seen anything akin to pirates or mercenaries at all in recend editions. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure on this one.
Now Eldar and Dark Eldar are considered to be "pirates" by many, especially the harlequins (Dumbest army EVER) but they have regular codices.
yah I know ive been reading almost everything I didnt know that they were the first thing for roge trader.Im trying to get some pirates and mercenaries to serve the Fallen Dark Angels I heard they will be good. But the closet thing I heard about pirtes is traiter Imerial Guard other than that nothing much.Do GW still print rules on pirates or what.I would love to make a army well at least trying to do of Criminals, pirates, mercenaries and so on.Start a Mafia army,Ill use model Creed the Mob Boss smoking his fat cigar.
--- Kroot Mercenaries exist at the moment, and the rules for them can be found in Chapter Approved 2003 and 2004.
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
what about TraitorIG.
Well, you'd have to use regular IG rules for that.
Basically, choose the ruleset you like the best, and model your troops to fit the theme you want.
I saw someone's DE army. Every model was actually a pirate(old school pirates, not 40k). Literally. They'd taken models from another company of similar size. So the archon had a hook for his agonizer, etc. It was awesome and very well done. But he used the DE rules, with no modifications, so it was completely tourney legal.
If you want a pirate/raider army, choose the race you want, choose the list you want, and style them that way.
Just so you don't ask again, NO there are no official rules on "pirates" or anything like that. You have to get creative.
Ok so I need to get the Eye of Terror Codex for the Lost & the damed and the IG codex to use Traitor IG am I right. So I can make Traitor IG and call them pirates, criminals or whatever to serve the Fallen Angels. So im susomming that I can have Traitor IG and Fallen Angels.
Well, you have to follow standard rules for inducting/allying. So if your fallen angels are SM or CSM, as I think they are, then you can't just field the IG. You'd need to find a rule that allows allying (unless you're playing large games that involve two FOC's).
For example, one way to get allies in an SM army is to include allied Daemon- or Witch-Hunters. But there are rules for that in the involved codecies. Tau can induct Human auxilaries, but again there are rules to it, you can't just field them both. So you'd have to find rules for your fallen angels to use IG.
I did it's in Cypher's Rulz,it states that he can have one squad of Fallen Angels in IG or CSM(But didnt mention TIG would that be the same thing?).But they are treated as CSM but have the special rule of "they shall know no fear" so if the rulz for the LATD TIG have CSM does that mean they can have the Fallen cuz there part of CSM.
Just ally them to IG as if they were the loyal ones but model you figures as pirates, even if you use the loyal IG rules, maybe they are =from a barbaric world or something....
