I need clarification regarding how you allocate the wounds for a lost combat that involves multiple units. If a player loses the overall combat by 2 wounds, would both units take their leadership test -2?
Player A has one unit in the combat (A)
Player B has two units in the combat (B1, B2)
A inflicts 0 wounds to B1, and 2 wounds to B2.
B1 and B2 inflict 0 wounds in return.
Player B lost combat by 2. Both units take a leadership test -2. If the unit is fearless it takes two saves instead, allocated as normal.
I’m pretty sure this is right, and this is how I had the players play it. But one player insisted that since 1 unit didn’t suffer any wounds, he shouldn’t have to take any penalties. The BRB just says both units on the losing side must take a leadership test, how the penalty is worked out isn’t mentioned. I also assumed that wound allocation is still applicable.
You have it right. Everyone on the losing side takes the test with penalties equal to the amount their side lost by. This is stated outright on page 41, under 'Assault Results'.
Put the box on the table by the window in the kitchen.
