Now, the chapter approved says that kroot can lend a couple of squads, as mercs, to all armies but SoB, SM, Necrons, and 'Nids. So therefore, Chaos armies can have cheap assualt troops.
But to field something like a Thousand Sons army, everyone has to be given the Mark of Tzeentch. However, these kroot aren't a new variety of kroot (Khoas Kroot!, but allies that join the fight for the right price and the right mission.
So what do you think? Can the Four cult armies for Chaos use Kroot??? I was hoping to have some +1 I kroot who are carrying various gibs of Eldar after helping the TS storm the webway in search of the Black Library.
Haha I had never thought of this, what an original idea. As to whether it is legal I am not sure, since, as you said in a Thousand Sons army all models have to have the Mark of Tzeentch so it looks unlikely I would say, but perhaps Kroot Mercenaries could be an exception to the rule.
I think you can. The rule about all models needing the mark applies to CSM. Any Kroot you're using would be a seperate detachment, so they wouldn't follow the same rules. But I might be wrong.
I was thinking about using them as the tau use them: keep them behind my lines as I back away from my opponent while firing. Then when he gets within charge range, have my kroot come forward and charge. or, if I get charged first, use my kroot to clean off the locked Thousand Son squad. But before I shell out the money for 20 kroot, I need to know if anyone has seen a faq or any experience with kroot and chaos together???
Yes, you can do it, it merely counts as a seperate detachment and does not have to follow the rules by having the mark of Tzeentch. Basically all they are doing is paying the kroot to fight for them, not turn to their beliefs.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.
