I can't remember where I heard this, but if they do, that will just be plain old retarded... a squad of 20 would get at least 3 automatic wounds on just about anything, on top of the additional wounds they'd inflict... that's better than a squad of ten genestealers, and they also have the advantage of 1) better armor, and 2) much better range
please tell me that was just a horrible rumor, because it would just cripple a tyranid army trying to go against eldar (not that the 2 wraithlords and a warwalker my opponents likes to field don't already help)

No. One. Knows.
Wait for the rules to come out. Until then, no once can definitely tell you yes or no. Besides, if they get rending, they're gonna probably cost more to compensate, eliminating the cheese factor.
Shuriken CANNONS I can see Rending (actually for guns, it's called Reaping). You're thinking of Shuriken Catapults, which are currently rumored to merely up their range to 18", so that now, the only way to kill them would be to out-FoF them, shoot their asses down, or overrun them with bikes. Shuriken cannons are heavy weapons, the Shuriken Catapults are the Guardian weapons -- you can't have a squad with 20 Shuriken Cannons -- it's just not possible. Max I count is 6 -- a Vyper squadron with their main armament as a Shuricannon and their TL catapults upgraded to cannons, or 3 Warwalkers with 2 Shuricannons each. However, if the Cannon DID get reaping, it would have to undergo a significant points-increased, because, overpriced as it is, Reaping is going to KICK ASS.
