Can u use melta bombs in an assualt on walkers?
A moment of weakness spawns a life tme of heresy...
Yes. P.73 BRB third paragraph under "Walkers and Assaults". Rules for how to use them are on P.63 BRB.
"Tau Commandment #226: Participants who use Velocity Trackers in the Tau Clay Pigeon Tournament will be disqualified"
Short answer: Yup.
Long answer: Check the sections on grenades and on walkers, both under 'Vehicles in an Assault' (or something like that - sorry, no page refs right now). They will explain exactly how grenades such as melta bombs work against walkers. There may be some confusing lines in certain codices, such as "melta bombs can be used against immobilized walkers" - this is a relic from older editions, and doesn't necessarily reflect on the actual rules.
That is, unless I'm remembering incorrectly... I'll double check this when I get home, if no one has stepped in and confirmed/denied it.
EDIT: Or Eiglepulper will beat me to it. You know, whichever.
