So we got the first game ever in the 40k universe of today. Me playing space marines and a buddy playing the orks.
1, Can a bike unit become subject to pinning and thus going to ground? (resemblind they throw them selves of the bikes to get to cover?)
2, When you allocate wounds to for example a Nob unit, it takes 3 wounds and has 3 models.. do you Have to kill 1 and put 1 wound on a second unit? or can you spread it so 1 wound on them all?
same with normal ork squads, can you give the nob 1 wound instead of killing one boy off?
3, attacks on say a sergeant is 2, but thats only for melee purposes right? He still cant fire his weapon twice in a round as its rapid fire?
4, a right forgott the fourth question, a dreadnought with a plasma cannon still suffers from gets hot! right? or how does that work.. since he has no wounds!
probably easy questions for you veterans but for us new to the hobby it was a great battle, even tho we probably made alot of misstakes.

2. You have to kill one and half. In the boyz squad, you can allocate a wound on to your nob (i think)
3. The attack profile is for CC, the amount of shots a gun can fire is stated in the weapons stats (e.g. Heavy 3)
4. Vehicles dont suffer Gets Hot.Once you have a few games you will find you dont need to look in the rulebook, but I still find I have to check up on the basics! As long as you have fun, it doesnt matter!probably easy questions for you veterans but for us new to the hobby it was a great battle, even tho we probably made alot of misstakes.
For get your Mr T, John Mayer leaks pure awesomeness with every note he plays.
To answer the 1st question.
Bikers are still classed as infantry, so yes, they dohave to deal with pinning tests and can go to ground.
For the attacks question, you take what it says in the model's profile (IE 2 CC attacks for the sergent), then add any modifiers to that, like +1 for a charge and +1 for 2 weapons (bolt/plasma pistol and knife/chainsword) BUT if they have 2 special weapons (plasma pistol and power sword) you don't get the +1
and don't worry about making mistakes. I have tons of games under my belt and still have to flip through the rulebook a few times during a game. And its gonna get worse, since 3 of the people I regularly play use guard, uhg.
Yes, I did deep-strike your sister...
Necrons : W-8 D-3 L-7 (Sleeping in their TombFoam, waiting for a new codex)
Chaos Forces (CSM/CD): W-42 D-19 L-28
Apocalypse Games : W-4 D-0 L-1 (4 Titans, Brass Scorp, 3 Baneblades, 2 Bombers, 3 Fighters, and a Partrage in a Pear Tree)
Everybody has to start somewhere. After having been in the hobby for 12 yeahs and having read the rule book many times times, I still have to look things up a fair amount. (not even counting the times I get mixed up with old rules) Sounds like you are doing it right. Remembering questions for later is very helpful. Soon with a little study of the rule book and surfing the forums for your questions, you'll be answering rules questions too.
Q2: The answer to this question really depends on what way the Nobs are presented. If they are identical in every way, then you would kill one of them and put a single wound on a second model. If they were all different then you could allocate a wound to each one separately.
Take a bit of time to read through the 5th paragraph on P.26 BRB under "Units of Multiple Wound Models" again, perhaps setting up the scenarios that the rulebook suggests, so that you can actually work through the rule. This one can get a little complicated at times!
