The marines has ccw+pistol and also bolter that they may exchange for something else (plasmagun flamer etc)
If I`ll assemble a marine with ccw+pistol, can I add on plasmagun or flamer etc. with a suitable wire? (Nicely modelled of course.) Just to let them change it for next time? Like flamer againts DE but plasma againts DH? (Yes, I`m tailoring in high level!)
What marines come with CCW, bolter AND boltpistol? I'm assuming you're not talking about the standard codex marines...
I'd be more inclined to have either the pistol or CCW in a holster and the flamer/plasma mounted with magnets but as long as you can get it to look respectable there shouldn't be a problem with it in a tournament.
Sadly, Tactical Marines come with bolt pistols yes.
As for the OP; If the rules state that you replace the bp+ccw with a Plasmagun or Flamer then that is exactly what happens. I suppose there's nothing stopping you agreeing with your opponent that 'This model with a Chainsword, Pistol and Flamer is actually only armed with a Flamer', but it would be very misleading. You may be penalised on wysiwyg at tournaments.
The Chaos Marine for almost the same cost comes with Pistol, CCW and a Bolter
Maybe its those marines?
That's what I was thinking, either that or perhaps one of the older SM codex (Space Wolves etc).
The fact that CSM come with bolter, pistol and CCW wheras I just get 2 of the 3 has probably cost me more matches against them than my mistakes and poor dicerolling combined
Yes, sorry, CHAOS marines. Tactical marines has no ccw (in the army builder, I have no codex)
Before I did this silly question, I read through the rulebook/codex/faq/LO faq
I did not find a trace that I have to drop the ccw+pistol combo for a bolter.
And the LO faq:
Q : Chaos Marines are equipped with a Bolt Pistol, a Bolter and a Close Combat Weapon. How do I use those ?
A : These equipments can all be used as normal. You can choose to use eiter bolters or bolt pistols during the shooting phase. Your models are still subject to rules for rapid fire or pistol fire. During the assault phase, you will probably want to use the bolt pistol and close combat weapons. Same rules apply if you replace you bolter with another weapon.
So, as WYSIWYG the rulebook did not say anything that I can not model a pistol in hand a plasmapistol in a sidecase...
The codex did not say that I have to choose ccw+pistol OR bolter, also I can replace the bolter with the following special weapons: list in codex, so to confront these two rules and the idea from the LO faq I can make a ccw+psitol+flamer marine in my thoughts.
But I was concerned is that ok, or not.
So, I think I can not do it in tournaments (I certainly will not go to tournies for a while or maybe never.) Also I still can brake off the arms and make it permanent with flamer.
I can beleive it looks funny, but I only want to set up a couple of marines like this.
For Chaos Space Marines, you should be fine having the model carrying the pistol and the chainsword, and a flamer in a sling, or attached to his backpack in someway. As you are allowed to have all three for the model.
As long as the item depicting the weapon resembles the weapon enough you should have no problems in tournaments. I wouldn't have a square briefcase or something, saying "there's a flamer in there" That might lose you some points in a tourney.
