Hi ive read over the 5thEd rulebook and the 4thEd CSM codex and i cant find any special rules for IW armys (ie. being able to field a IG Basalisk) but i have read on the net that there are some special rules for IW, have these rules been taken out in the new codex?? or am i missing something?
Thanks in advance
You haven't missed anything, they're gone.
Yeah i thought so damn it would have been nice to have a basalisk lol
Yeah, GW in all there wisdom decided that having the legions (exception to the Black Legion, who never had anything "special") having there own rules was no good. I can't imagine why, I liked them a lot.
Iron warriors had to take Mark of chaos undevided (simmilar to IoCG) and couldn't take any other marks in the army.
They were allowed 4 heavy support slots, but in the old list dreads occupied a heavy slot so you can still replicate this (sort of) in the current codex.
They were allowed to take vindicators, but now all chaos lists can take them.
They could take basilisks. You can't take them at the moment but in appocalypse games there is nothing to stop you.
They were allowed to take more than 1 unit of oblits but in the current list so is everyone else.
They all got the siege specialist rule but that was not that useful.
