I was curious to know how exactly does crossfire work, does it happen if your surronded in h2h and fail ur leadership and then u die, or what?

the rules for crossfire are on page 72 of the main rule book. essentially any time you have to fall back (not just from hand to hand) if they run into an opponents model your entire unit dies. it honestly seems a bit unrealistic to me and just waiting for exploitation but i havnt found the perfect combination for it yet as having one fo your units close behind an opponent just doesnt seem to happen all that often.
Also worth noting is that if the TAR is any indication, the "Crossfire"-rule will be become the "Trapped!"-rule, and seriously more difficult to execute in the upcoming 4thEdition.
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
Yes Crossfire is unrealistic. My enemy had 5 terminators die because a scarab was in their way...
The Space marines have a "they shall know no fear" rule which prevents advancing through them. Does this rule also eliminate crossfire?
Necron will stand for eternity.Their race has survived aeons by trading their very souls for metal bodies. Now, they will live on through eternity and will vanquish all life from our universe. For they are Necron. Flesh is weak. The machine will rise!
