Now i've had a bit of a weird thought recently and i can't seem to find anything wrong per se to argue against it, so i thought i'd better ask. Can Monstrous Creatures "hide" in non monstrous Groups and thus not get fired at? For instance can i put a Daemon Prince in some raptors and call it a day knowing he can't be shot at?
I assume Morgan Freeman is the voice of the Emperor.

MC can't join other units, only IC can do that.
The only Monstrous creature that can "hide" in non-MC groups is the Hive Tyrant. You can give him a retinue of Tyrant Guards so that he can't be picked out in shooting or CC. None of the other MC's can do that.
Retinues are completely different than attaching an IC to a squad. With a retinue, the character is not considered independant until the retinue is killed off and can never leave the retinue.
(WH40K) Dark Eldar - (12,000pts) Sisters of Battle - (5000pts) Dark Angels -(3500pts) (WHFB) Dark Elves - (10,000pts) Beastmen - (5000pts) Empire - (3000pts) Wood Elves - (1500pts)
Ok, page 51 under the heading ‘Monstrous Creatures’ tells us that at least 50% of the creature must be covered to gain a cover save – so its possible to hide within a group, hard to prove but possible.
And MC’s consisting of a single model can not be attached to by any Independent Character (page 48 first paragraph) so there is no joy there either.
So that leaves you treating your MC much like a vehicle in regards to cover and page 62 has a great picture showing you how this is to be done.
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
