Hello gentlemen and ladies!
I am new to the hobby and i'd like some lights to some questions that have appeared recently.
First i must say that i aspire to be a dark angels player.I chose the chapter mainly for their background story and that it posses some greatly detailed mins.
My questions and my pleas for your wisdom:
1)I read at gamesworkshop's site,at DA tactics section that the death wing can take double lightning claws and/or thunder hammers and equip a cyclone launcher also. The problem is i cant find any entries regarding this to the codex.Only a photo representing one termie but no rulling.
2)Do any dark angels player feel like lab mice for the 5th ed rules?I certainly feel so.
3)Scouts as an elite choice!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!Come on!!!
Thanks for any replies and your time looking forward to your comments!
This may do better in the space marine forum.
I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand
Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.
1) Yes that is possible. Simply read the Deathwing Termies entry in the codex (pg. 82). It says any termy can take LCs and 1 termy can take a heavy weapon, but places no limits on how these pieces of wargear are distributed.
2) Yes, actually its pretty much an accepted fact nowadays. Its really too bad GW doesn't like DA, but i'm sure someday they may get a real codex like BA and SW, but it certainly isn't now.
3) Ya...it blows, but like I mentioned, DA kinda got screwed.
Nevermore Chapter: 6200 pts; 97/49/11; Longest Streak: 9 Wins/4 Losses; Nearing Completion
I quite liked the DA book, (except the elite scouts). I used it to represent y marines for a while since I didn't like the old SM book. It does feel like a bit of a test subject, the place where a lot of the recent good ideas came from, and a few that were a bit too extreme, but that I still like (5 or 10 man squads, none of this sill 8 man stuff )
Hmm..Thanks for the pointers.I really hadnt thought it that way with the heavy weapons and all.I guess you can preatty much tosh in a heavy flamer at a close combat squad or mix em up with storm bolters and CCWs.Too bad you can have only 5 in each squad.
Can i ask something else?It is stated in the army list that each marine carries a bolt pistol in addition to its normal wargear. So when you are in 6 inches of the enemy you can shoot with the bolt pistol and charge, even if the tactical squad had been using bolters the hole time?
You can, yes, as long as the entire squad only fires Pistols or Assault weapons.
Just be careful when you do that. If you get too many kills with the pistols a decent opponent will remove all of his models that were in your charge range and you'll be standing out in the open to get gunned down next turn. (or you might accidentally cause them to fail a morale test and run out of range, even if you're right in their face.)
Well yes it can happen i suppose inquisitor, but even if they flee they will be at bolter range again. But that with model removing or rapid firing i guess your true.
I would make a plea for your wisdom again.I was studying the new ed rulebook recently and grabbed a copy of the new dex marines. And another question arose to me.I have the DA codex army lists so here we go.
Is it legal to throw in a redeemer/ironclad D. in army list from the sm dex?
Do my squads benefit from the new rules(such a FNP or relentless)and wargear)hell fire rounds for instance)?
Thnx in advance for any responses again!
Praise be to the Emperor!!
Unfortunately not. They are seperate, so you can only use one Codex or the other, not mix and match. For this reason I know a lot of DA players who use the regular SM dex because they want access to some of the new units (ie Sternguard). Ironically, I have a friend who plays an Imperial Fists 1st Company with the Deathwing rules (using Belial as Lysander), while also knowing a guy who plays DA/Deathwing using the new SM Codex (with Lysander as Belial).
