I have been admiring the Forgeworld Hive Tyrant and am thinking about taking the plunge!
There is one element of the model.. I need to better understand.
Here is the build I am going for :
Hive Tyrant - 207 points
- Scything Talons
- Scything Talons
Looks pretty straightforward... but, the model has "Scything Wings". Instead of making wings and 4 talons... they either took a shortcut or this is some special weapon from their Imperial Armour publication.
- Adrenal Glands (+WS, +I)
- Flesh Hooks
- Toxic Miasma
- Toxin Sacs
- Warp Field
My question concerns WISIWIG... would you think it ok to have a combi item like wings & scything talons on a model? No special rules, no oddity or trickery... a straight build from the codex... but the model is a bit singular...?
Considering that this is an Official Forge World model, the model should be allowed.
Considering that is is missing an entire weapon biomorph, you have to assume for what it is. The FW model's wings are slightly scythe-like, and there is no other variant for what 2nd weapon biomorph the model could have other than the assumed second set of Scything Talons.
Personally, I would unconditionally allow it for WYSIWYG provided to raid your bitz box and attach Adrenal Glands, Flesh Hooks, etc.
Yes, it will be allowed. The wings are also talons (or can easily be argued as such given this is a forgeworld model).
BTW, give him Implant Attack as well to make him a character/nob biker/oblit/bloodcrusher/etc. killer.

WYSIWYG extends to the Army Roster, if it’s written on it, then it’s witnessed and allowed in the game.
And that model actually scares me just by looking at it!
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
