I've seen far too much DKoK or Traitorguard and i personally love the sexiness of elysian models and may get some (i usually just buy cadian from my budgets)
i have both IA3 and IA4
can i combine the "codices" from both the books? or is just one or the other. as in, IA3 allows the HQ to take Missile Launcher anti-tank teams but IA4 doesnt.
i guess its the same question with traitorguard from IA5 and IA6
and EDIT: without starting a new thread, what does Defense Laser Strength D mean?
Generally speaking, you can't combine from different books. Imagine combining rules from 4th edition and 5th edition. Then I'd have genestealers which rend on the hit, can consolidate into other units after winning a cc-fight, and gets 4+ cover from staying behind their own troops. Or I use the new Imperial Guards and give them free doctrines from 4th edition guards. It's just plain cheating. Either use one or the other, but not both.
Strength D is the most powerful shot there is, even more so than Str 10 shots. But you're going to have to refer to the Apocalyse rulebook as those type of guns don't exist in regular 40k.
What Jy said. The D just stands for a Destructor hit which you REALLY don't want to get hit by.
I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand
Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.
Pick 'n mix from 2 or more codexes is not legal. You can use the new imperial guard codex to make a decent version of the Elysians if you want to take an air cavalry list .If you want the depstriking drop troop list then you will have to wait for forgeworld to update their Elysian lists. When the spacemarines were redone last year forgeworld updated IAvol2 with the new codex rules. hopefully they will do a similar thing with their guard stuff.

Considering IA isn't an actual codex to begin with, it is really up to you on what you want to do. If you want a normal game of 40k with opponent's consent to use an unofficial codex, use one an only one codex.
However, when it comes to Apocalypse when you can take whatever you want, and it is even legal to take Fire Prisms alongside Land Raiders (with just flavor reason) in one army list, you can combine codecies.
Essentially, they are separate codecies that just so happen to represent the same army.
