I was just wondering if I was using his daemon sword right, because it doesn't seem that great for the points he is. I've been playing he gets that one attack at his initiative, you need to roll to hit and to wound with his regular WS and his regular S and the enemy still gets invul. So any responses on if I'm using it right are greatly appreciated.

The way I saw it was you roll to hit then your enemy is dead unless they have an invulnerable save, so it is very good. Then after that you get his 3 or 4 lightning claw attacks.

The thing I find disapointing about him is the 3 wounds. He is the warmaster of chaos, leader of the black crusades! He should have 4.

nope, you only need to hit, just like Stewart already mentioned.
And yes your opponent still get's an invul. save but no armour save.

though stewart is right, Abaddon should have miore attacks and I think that 4 wounds would also be better for him.
you can easily make a chaos lord that is harder than Abaddon for lesser points

I've got a somewhat related question about Abaddon's attacks and the sword. His profile shows 4(+1) attacks. Is the +1 actually his attack (from having two weapons or terminator armor or the favor of Khorne), or is it the sword's attack? That is, do Abaddon and Drach'nyen get five attacks together, or does Abaddon get five and the sword get one?

I'm pretty sure it is the 4 lightning claw attacks and the plus 1 is for his sword.

I had this discussion before with a friend of mine who just started the Black Legion, he claims that the rules mean Abaddon has either 5 attacks with the LC or 1 with the sword.

It would make sense that he has 5 normal attacks cause otherwise a normal Chaos Lord would be even better

So the plus one would represent the Mark of Khorne, and the sword is seperate. That would be cool, Considering he only had 3 attacks (plus the sword) in the old rules.

well he shoud have the basic attacks as a chaos lord, then with the extra ttack from termie armour and MoK

about using both weapons in the same turn I'm not sure about, the codex is very helplfull on that aspect of him.

all i know is that he only gets ONE daemon sword attack each turn
And a nother curious question...how will drach'nyen react against a daemon prince (yes, this is chaos fighting chaos) w/ a daemonic rune?

It should still instant kill him, daemonic rune doesn't say anything about non double toughness.
