Planetstrike - a pair of rules questions

IG Commanders, can they give orders from within a Bastion?

How do you people normally treat the Interceptor Icarus Lascannon's line of sight from the top of the bastion? True LoS, would have the cannon not firing at anything on the ground even if placed in the middle of the gameboard.

ThanX for you help in advance.

That's a really good question. I'd be inclined to say no, according to RAW, as the Chimera needs a special rule to allow orders from a Commander embarked in one. And since buildings work like "embarkation"...

This requires discretion on the part of the players. At a minimum, your opponent should allow a 45 degree incline, much the same way that the BRB describes elevated shots from "fixed" vehicle weapons.

I agree. But then bastions can have troops on the top of the roof enabling them to fire as though it was an opentopped (stationary) vehicle. Perhapse orders could be given then but I think you probably still need the command vehicle special rule that the chimera has.
