The point came up during discussion of the various strategems - does the meteor's auto destruction of scenery include buildings (notably bastions and fortresses) ?
As I said last night, it's a piece of terrain - and it specifically mentions models inside it taking a hit on a 4+. Sounds to me like it's ALL terrain, if you're paying 4 strategy points for it then it'd better be good!
For PlanetStrike, Bastions are specifically labeled as buildings. Therefore, I would definitely believe the Meteor strategem, destroys it, and (if applicable) the unit would suffer hits.
Just keep in mind objectives that are buildings/bastions are still objectives, that can be held....their just ruins now. I don't have the page number on hand just remember reading it.
Tyranid and Eldar player....don't ask me how I ended up playing these two armies, just smile, nod, slowly move away and don't make eye contact!
I re-read your question, and while my oringal answer answerred most of it it left out "fortresses."
I would definitely talk with your opponent, prior to any revelations of strategem usage. The individual 'sections' of the fortress are. Planetstrike is very open ended, have fun with new stuff kind of game, not really tournament quality. If you have a large impressive fortress, I would definitely have sections 'defined', so that not a single 'hit' would wipe the whole fortress off the map. That would seem very silly.
It is something to think about, as my group haven't devised any broad reaching fortresses yet.
