What is the procedure for taking moral tests on units embarked in a building? (after being flamed half to death for instance)
Similarly are units in buildings affected by non-psychic area effects that might cause them to fail moral and run (i.e. the Culexus assassin) - the 40k FAQ only covers the use of psychic powers at embarked units.
"units inside a building may not be attacked directly"
so they cant be flamed half to death.
as for the Culexusquestion, i dont have the codex, so you'd need to post the wording of the ability in question. if it's akin to the necron nightmare shroud (every enemy unit with a model within 12") then you have your answer..
Can an embarked unit break at all? If they can are they capable of making a disembarking action or do they run around broken inside the building?
For buildings, not vehicles. It is possible to trigger a Morale check on the unit inside. I find no rule that can't be adhered to when determining a Moral check from Casualties pg 44; 5th Ed. BRB.
The unit inside suffers from 25% unsaved wounds they would roll for Morale. If failed, they would fall back, through the access point, toward their table edge. If they are unable to successfully exit the building or unable to complete their full fall back move; the Trapped! rule would apply pg 45; 5th Ed. BRB
This comes up a bunch in Planetstrike games.
